Hi tailred

that addon is a great idea. Would you be willing to implement the German keyboard that has switched Y and Z keys? It's quite a pain without.

P.S. It would be beautiful if the button text could also have the shortcurt added.

Of course I would be willing to test your software. I am on Win 8.1 with Chrome 64bit and Firefox ESR with a lot of addons like request policy and noscript.

In case you wonder, challonge doesn't allow floating point numbers so it's 45-15 there  :-[

That is very strange to me. So next time you have to double all scores...

Dominion Videos and Streams / My streaming settings for OBS
« on: October 02, 2016, 03:54:35 pm »

I am using a Intel i7-4600 15 Watt CPU that throttles a lot (missing the good old 35W CPUs in my notebook a bit). However I played a bit with OBS for streaming and I found out the following:

- disabling Microsoft Defender's real time protection (see: options) will improve OBS speed significantly
- Coding: using Quick Sync as Encoding options (no CBR) seems to work best (since it is hardware supported by my CPU)
- Quick Sync Encoder: using VBR with 1000Kbit/s is sufficient. I have to set the quality to 6 because the MF client uses so much CPU

I realise that the thing I deplore the most is the pairing system MF introduced.

I would be so pleased if there were an option to choose if you want to play a fast game or a measured one. While I do not love it, if players take excessive amounts of time for their turns, I can arrange myself with that, and I certainly prefer it to players quitting or nagging.

This has gone as far as that I currently only play friends or bots.

P.S. Maybe it will sort itself out on its own on your system. The Goko solution with rooms and the ability to accept or reject a player also worked much better. Greetings.

Oh, hey, I can play again. That is great news. Thanks, I love it.

Feedback / Breadcrumb navigation
« on: June 27, 2016, 11:50:09 am »

thank you fort his great forum, which I use often and like it a lot.

I often use the breadcrumb trail to navigate within this forum, but for years now the entry "Dominion" is broken:

Linking to:

All other links seem to work. I find that both strange and bugging. Maybe there is a simple fix.

For me personally, online Dominion has been absolutely awful, it has cast a long shadow of sorrow over my life, and the threat of "no online Dominion" is just no threat at all. Man if only there had never been online Dominion. I could be that happy-go-lucky guy, making cards, with no-one mad at him ever. Okay there would be people mad about bendy Adventures cards but that's it.

I feel you bro. Expansion/progress is inevitable, but consistently painful. I personally think the idea of stagnation (if only things stayed the way they were) is soothing but illusionary. Life is weird, but vivid mixture of good and bad. Hugs for everybody.

I am very much convinced that the new Dominion client will be wonderful, having seen what SCSN implemented with the MFM. Therefore I am expecting it to exceed my expectations anyway.

What I currently miss very much is indeed a proper matchmaking that enables me to play against sincere, serious players who love a good game; and not some random dudes that are writing questionmarks in the chat after only 60 secs of initial consideration time (which are that type of people that continue during the game to try making me play faster by writing further remarks - as if that helps).

I do know that a lot of thought is necessary for the designers to ensure a good online experience and that there are many possibilities (whitelists, blacklists, options for gameseeking, quantifier for the strictness of these options, etc.) to achieve this. Here I also trust in the programming team and I do not expect a perfect solution out of the box.

Maybe an option to mute your opponent would be nice - and an option for a bot to take over for you when you get slowplayed, but dont want to relent and resign. Or an option where you could choose you playing speed: slow, medium, fast.

A monthly subscription is kind of difficult for me to accept since I often do not play Dominion for months.

Then why not take the subscription just for the months you do want to play?

Well if this will be possible, it is nearly the same model which I explained. I guess many people dont enjoy the word "subscription". That's great news. Way to go, you two!

Some years ago I have had a beautiful experience with the smartphone navigation system offered by the German Telecom. Their system calculated the route centrally on their servers and was sent to your smartphone. They had a price model, that I loved very much. You had the following options:

- pay per single navigation
- buy a flatrate for 30 days
- buy a flatrate of 365 days

I found that perfectly reasonable and simple, since everybody was able to select the best option for their type of usage. Think about it. A monthly subscription is kind of difficult for me to accept since I often do not play Dominion for months. Maybe other people feel the same.

Man, the match of Stefs against e was amazing. Especially that last game at 1:36. Unbelievable. Thank you so much for streaming, Stef.

I loved the latest stream of yours. Excellent video quality, the new extension, great card size and of course the WW commentary. What more can I ask for? Thanks WW

going live now.
I missed you streaming a bit. It was very nice to listen to your thoughts and see you play these games so deliberately even though there was much non engine stuff, I didn't mind that. Thank you very much.

Next time you stream you could zoom in a little with your browser (CTRL and "+"). Then cards are bigger and easier to see. You have to do it before you click the MULTIPLAYER button otherwise Goko can get confused.

Dear SCSN,

the game 4 against Fergesser from your Dom-league war great (crossroads Harem engine) at 29:15.

I enjoyed to watch the stream a lot. Thanks.

I don't know where to post this, but your match against silverspawn was one of the funniest streams I lately saw. Well commented and well played. Thank you, Mic.

Happy new year, all

That list is comparing BM strats against each other. So it starts from the assumption "go for BM". It isn't helpful for deciding whether to play BM or engine.

Good, I understand that.

My idea is that first I check if the engine is strong. If it isn't, I have to evaluate what BM+enabler is capable of doing (list) and then decide which one is faster. Does that sound reasonable?

I want to work on that.

Dominion Articles / Re: BM enabler
« on: December 15, 2014, 07:15:16 pm »
The list he linked is not supposed to be a list of BM enablers. It's a list of what's best (very roughly) if you have to play BM, and not engine. That's not AT ALL the same thing as an enabler.

Well I dont understand the difference, I guess. What I was looking for was a way to help me decide if I play BM+something or if I go engine. I mean for example something like this kingdom.

So I figured a list of cards that enable BM would be helpful for me especially if they are listed in descending order as Qvist make with his excellent Dominion cards list just as a decision aid.

« on: December 15, 2014, 05:23:33 pm »

I found a really old article that is missing some cards (butcher f.e.). Is there a more up-to-date list for Big money enabler cards? Like the best of lists that Qvist compiled? I would find that helpful to judge whether I should play BM or an engine.

Its too late for me to offer to play you. But I am really looking forward to the streaming of your match. All the best luck.
