With the new Tax, Black Cat can give your opponent debt (assuming it's reacting to a Victory card they bought or otherwise gained during their Buy phase)

I'm not sure if that would ever be a particularly strong effect, but it's certainly a novel one, since up till now there's never been a way to give someone debt (the -$1 token being the closest thing)

just played a swindler tax game.  funny to tax curses and then give a debt with curse on the next turn.  JOAT was also on board.  Taxing the silver becomes a pretty strong attack, especially if you don't get a JOAT yourself.  But in that game he swindled me one b/c he was so sick of me doing it.

lol, so I think if you use Messenger to give a copy of Secret Passage to Revenge Witch, she eventually plays the card and can't decide what to do.  Because the AI is based on them never owning cards it isn't going to buy or gain?  Crazy.

This should probably be a comic or meme somehow but I don't have a plot yet.

Revenge witch?
I think that’s the name of a bot, not some new card.

Revenge Witch
$5 Action - Reaction - Attack
Each other player gains a Curse.
-
When another player plays an Attack card, you may play this from your hand twice.

yikes that's OP. Much better than actual witch.  But I guess so is sea witch.

Oh that card is overpowered alright

agreed.  especially since it self-trashes as opposed to when trashed.

Throne is nicely thematic with the throne room concept too.

populate mint.  When you gain populate you lose all coins used to buy it when Mint is in play.  Still probably worth it usually, but might not wanna get it with plunder or magic lamp in play.  This is a very nasty negtive synergy with like Capitalism say...

131
This one might not even be a negative synergy, but an inverse reverse negative synergy?  Possession and Barbarian.  If your opponent has Barbarians it becomes pretty dangerous to play them, as Barbarian smashes to a curse like 30% of the time.  You won't lose the cards you trash, and if you faux trash good cards, you could get some free lower-cost cards, but if you could easily cause yourself to gain a curse too.
Anyone not possessed still trashes their cards, including the possessor.

oof. u are right.then it is even better.  as you force them to choose between the 2 coins or trashing their own cards.  Really makes Barbarian a nice possession counter.  More fun than greening your deck to death to spite them.

132
This one was really neat, but would be very hard to replicate as it has so many necessary parts.  But if u get a donate, collection, altar, trail, inventor, hunting lodge board you can do this.

This was one of the better turn 7 wins I've seen.  While he technically didn't end it on t 7.  This game was over t 7.  Early on when he gained a villa over trails n stuff I thought "why is he doing that?  That seems kinda dumb.  I was very very wrong.

Really impressive.  Props to PopperMcgee for whipping my ass.  :o

Since GPT-3 reportedly read the entire Internet (when it was being trained), it probably read f.DS. I wonder if it could convincingly write posts in the style of specific top posters.

Oh ShiT, that would be creepy.

ok. someone has to set this up

Well, is the Curse worse than the two Ruins?
Collection + Death Cart is nice as endgame accelerator.

yeah with 2-4 collections in play this is $ af.  Also played in a Collection/populate deck.  Populate is already usually worth like 40 coins worth of toys.  Now it's worth that and 10-40 vp pts too...

137
Buying a Death Cart with a Cauldron in play = instant Cursing!

I imagine if you drank from a cauldron and then saw a death cart coming your way leaving ruins in it's wake you'd be cursing too

138
Catapult + Trail

It is interesting as Trail can be used as Familiar plus as defense against the handsize attack.

ooh this sounds fun.

139
There are only few cheap Actions (Poor House, Beggar) that hurt you

Any terminal Action card you don't have space for in your deck is going to hurt you.

And so is any stop card Action.

what is a stop card action?

140
Not that this one requires a PHD to figure out but Toil and Souk is just bonkers.  as long as you have 2 coins avail you play every souk without the coins deducting your souk+7.  2 coins and 3 souks produces 12 coins.

141
Like usually ignore gold kind of good.

So a completely unremarkable, indistinguishable from nothing kind of good.

Why?  there are a lot times you should optimally gain gold over Altar. On other boards it doesn't work so well.  On a lot of those boards trails presence creates a very positive interaction.

Not every positive interaction has to be earth-shattering.

and just to be clear I mean ignore gold. as in like never buy it unless maybe viz a biz bandit etc. Not like get altar before gold or something.  And that is not always the case with the 6 cost cards.

A similar case could be made for getting terminal cards like Vault since trails discard turns it into a vaulting labratory.

142
In a surprise to no one, Trail is very good w any workshop variant, as terminals become cantrips and cantrips become Villages. But specifically, Altar really shines with it.  Altar is great but its terminality and how it starts to prevent u from hitting 8 in some decks.  Trashing coppers/junk for 5's and getting a cantrip?  Plus sometimes u just trash trail and get the other side of the trail bonus, and a 5-cost card. Really really good. Like usually ignore gold kind of good.

143
Has Swap + Emporium been mentioned already?

Not that it was too hard to figure out but swap is pretty amazing when ur opponent starts tossing ruins at u...

Oh gosh, I had completely forgotten this even existed! By all means, please do create a wiki page for it.

I'm almost afraid to pan through all the slides on the onedrive link since they contain outdated info and i'd just spend hours browsing the old data b/c it's so neat.

The Dominion Statistics are actively updated and maintained.  They're regularly referenced in Discord, where there's a dedicated chatbot command to summon a graphical summary of statistics for any card.  However, unless you're on Discord it's a tool that's easy to miss.  It should honestly have its own Dominion Wiki page.

oooh neat-o.  Thanks a bunch!  ;D 8) :P

What is very interesting to me is that a lot of trashers have negative gain advantage. Amulet is at -11%, Raze even at -18%, and Chapel and Steward both at -4% (numbers where only 1 player gains it). That seems to indicate that trashing is overvalued in the current metagame.

wow.  How is it possible that chapel could have a negative advantage?  Might be that a lot of new players don't use it correctly (like not trashing 4 coppers e.g)

There are definitely times where raze/amulet/lookout can be just amazing and just a shitty stone in ur deck.  But chapel just seems like it's never bad.

Can we revive this and see all the data on the new cards/expansions since this thread etc?

Oh and if possible can you link to where we can input cards and pull data in the same way?  I'd really like it and always feel bad asking others to do the homework for all the random stoned musings that I request left and right.

Oh and this is amazing AF.  Really interesting to see.  I would be very interested to see how cards errata changes affected their utility, as I have noticed a lot that even knowing the errata has changed my emotional autopilot causes me to forgo some cards based on muscle memory.

148
It's strong, but it's not particularly nasty (you're just getting lots of extra turns for yourself rather than doing damage to your opponent).

I've had Possession/Way of the Horse. Now that one is nasty.

wow that would be nasty. tossing back your opponent's possessions oof

149
Possession + Odysseys
Make sure you get your Sunken Treasure before it's too late!

I don't get this one... are you just saying because it lets you gain Possessions easily?
It lets you gain Possessions easier than anything we have seen before; the significance of that cannot be overstated enough. On top of that, Voyage is also excellent for getting multiple Possession plays.

In the game on which I got this interaction, I opened with Old Map, got a Voyage and a Sunken Treasure, and always cycled until Distant Shore was on top. My opponent underestimated the importance of that pile (or should I say: the urgency of getting stuff thereof) and got none of these. By the time I played my first Possession (on a Voyage turn), I had two of these, and my opponent was like: "let's get the hell out of here."

ouch.  This is a nasty interaction.  How many possession & voyage turns could you link together.  The other player might as well make a sandwich,

I realize I am late to the Barbarian debate, but think about this. Barbarian in a game with platinum and colonies. There is NO other card that can trash a colony (for a net -4) and the only other card that I can think of that can trash a platinum is a Pirate Ship. (which is actually worse as you lose the platinum completely whereas with Barbarian it becomes a gold, but you do lose the platinum from your next draw).

This could be supremely nasty in a bandit fort game...

The other day I trashed a Fortune with a Barbarian.  Talk about a nasty swing thast's a net loss of 10 coins... Even Bandit can only trash down 9
