Opening is painful but I definitely misplayed - my first Gold should be Masterpiece overpay, I didn't need a 2nd Sea Hag, and I should have overpayed for Masterpiece more despite having Stashes in my deck - sure you shuffle less, but if that's because you have Silvers why do you care? Also, Stash gets bought this game - that's not something you see every day.

I plan on lots of Stables + 1 Witch as payload, to the point that I get a Stables over an Altar early because I'm worried about collisions and think it won't hurt me that much. This is wrong.
Also, although I think Witch > Mountebank if both are on board, with Stables Mountebank becomes better. Since you're cycling your deck so much, the Mountebank attack continues to hurt. My deck is actually better quality at the start, but falls further and further behind as Mountebanks keep coming in. In a vacuum, after Cursing stops your decks are so bloated that you don't get many Coppers from Mountebank and the guaranteed curses from Witch win it for you. In this game, the cycling is strong enough that Copper still matters. I think this is contentious, would like outside opinion on this.

I get 5/2, decide to go for SM/Mint, and then use SM on Mint to get actions. It doesn't work, but I really think it should, florrat and I spend some times trying to figure out how lucky you need to be to get it to work with correct play.
What kills me is that after I do SM -Mint -> Amb + Fortress, and draw Fortress + Amb + SM, I don't SM on Fortress for 2nd Amb + Silver. I never line up SM + Fortress again and die to Estates. There are lots of subtleties here that I'd really like someone to look into here - what do you turn Mint into? Get 2 Ambs, or Amb + Silver, planning to buy the village later? Get 2 Fortresses to maximize odds of hitting SM-Fortress, or does that leave you too open to the Amb attacks from your opponent? Or do you forget the Mint entirely and do SM-overpay in the opening for 2 Ambs? It's all very up in the air, but I think if played right the 5/2 can beat the 4/3 here.
