Hello, i'm new here!

Hello everyone,

I'm MarkowKette and my name is Chris.
I got to know Dominion some month ago and started enjoying it quite a bit.
Right now i own most of the expansions in RL but get to play with them quite rarely as most of my friends dont really share
my interests in card and board games.

So i started to play a bit on Goko, even though i haven't bought any of the expansions there as i already own them in real
and there are usually enough players hosting games with all cards anyway.
I really like putting in some thoughts onto the different strategies and combos that come along and by researching on the cards
i dont own i found this forum and saw the community behind it.

Now i introduce myself here hoping to find some nice players to play with regularly and to have interesting discussions about Dominion with.

About me:
I'm studying Mathematics at the Ulm University in Germany and my hobbies are playing board/card-games, badminton and beachvolleyball and doing research in graphtheory (if anyone knows what i'm talking of  ;) )

So thats about me, and now i'm looking foreward to getting deeper into Dominion here  ;D

Hey hey.  I also study Graph Theory, and I used to play badminton fairly competitively, but now I just play tennis and Ultimate.  This is a great place to discuss combos and strategies, though I mostly just read things.  I don't have as much experience as the addicts more serious players, but I've definitely improved a lot through these forums.

Hey, someone who actually noticed the introductions thread before they started posting elsewhere!

Well, they're still welcome additions to the forum.  Since there is plenty of strategic discussion involving statistics, mathematicians are an important division of the forum demographic.

Welcome!

Although my forum name indicates something different statistics/stochastics are not really my favourite math subject :)

You could head over to the Power Grid subforum to apply some graph theory.  Like here: http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=8101.0

hmm interesting, i could say they should add in a part of a greedy algorithm for the facility location problem to get more accurate numbers.
But as i have never played that game and never seen such a map and get all my knowledge about the game from a short wikipedia article this idea might also be laughably stupid  :D
