Or better yet, a Theme Hospital style one (would fit more with the challenges)

Because you haven't. Get on with it. I'd (probably) buy a copy.

I think Hospital would work better as you can have challenges turn up.

I know there have been a few hospital Sims about, but all of them have been co-op. And I hate co-op (and not just the supermarket)

This one looks quite similar in layout to theme hospital, so best shelve that idea.

Back to Theme Park then...

I've got a pretty good understanding of theme parks, but I am pretty new to gaming. I will start throwing ideas together to try at Game Night at work.

Is it going to be print and play? If not I will require a playtest copy free of charge.

Yeah, should be print and play to start with to enable people to test it.

You'll probably need the http://magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/ to get the 9 on a sheet display easier.

Also, pretty sure it should be forum game-able

Very curious how you're doing it.  The most difficult thing IMO is how to get the sense of actually building a theme park (note that a theme park-themed game has to be about building it, but that seems most natural to me).  In particular, building a roller coaster.

Just like rollercoaster tycoon. ;)

I have a few ideas myself but haven't really had time to focus on anything with my work schedule this weekend (Oz...)

If I was more familier with games this would probably be easier for me. I'm curious to see what Ozle has so far.

Re-theme a civ game. Through the Ages: Rollercoaster Edition.

Ironically, I had already considered the retheme Through the Aisle: A story of Commercialisation.

I didn't get very far :P.

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Same here. I was thinking of publishing "Guess Your Roll" as an IRL game. Anyone know where I can get D1000s produced?

d1000 would be a monster. Golf balls only have ~400 sides (dimples)... I'm thinking at least baseball-sized with golf ball sized dimples...

Thats what this one is. 3D10s built into one.

Also, still working on this game, needs big adjustments, but happy with the early premise.

http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/82702/funfair

I haven't looked at the rules, but the summary suggests that the theme is visiting a fair, rather than building or managing one.

Edit: This one might be though: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/6627/scream-machine

Edit2: Ahh, and this one coming up, but there's not much info on it: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/133604/theme-park

I think scream-machine is the closest to an actual amusement park building game.
