Well, there are only 4 fires available.  So it seems unlikely we'll lose on air quality.  We can't lose on pressure.

If Tables can fix the reactor, we might actually survive it :)

Well, there are only 4 fires available.  So it seems unlikely we'll lose on air quality.  We can't lose on pressure.

A fire that begins in a room that's already on fire does make an impact on the oxygen track, so we could still lose that way.

But at least we have three rooms that cannot have a fire start. And if other rooms get flooded, then that actually improves our odds of group survival (not necessarily for the individual gnomes).

So... I spend all my time trying to fix the reactor?

I think so. No other action would help out. Unblocking a door won't do any good since only Lekkit is left to act. You can't enter a room that's on fire. You could pass or trade every minute until you reach the end, but fixing the reactor is the best course of action, it seems.

If there wasn't a fire in Room 2, I'd suggest the air pumps. Alas, I don't see anything more helpful than fixing the reactor to 50%.

Hopefully we don't die, but if we do I hope we die the way I voted we might.

Player Action

Tables fixes Reactor (4 minutes).
Tables needs a 4 or less. He rolls 3. Success!

No Faint Check

Hazards

Minute 3: Missile Countdown. No effect.
Minute 1: Hatch Blocked in Room 7. You can pick a door, Tables, but it won’t matter.
Minute 0: Respite.

Lekkit goes next. I do believe we are surviving this. It’s so rare this happens…although when I play this IRL, we don’t have the benefit of knowing exactly what cards are coming up, so I’d say we had an edge there.

Anything you’d like to do for your final action, Lekkit? Then we just flip over two cards to see what else could have happened.

Does it matter if I try to fix the thing in the room I'm in?

As I walk through the sub and I look all around
I see signs of floods and fires all over the ground
And that's just fine for a gnome of my size
'Cause I lived to see the end and I won the prize.
With 5 minutes on the clock I'm unblocking doors
While all the other gnomes handle the other chores... Fool
But I've been running and working so long that
All of the others think my mind is gone.
I'm a gnome who set sail, not a care on the breeze
'till all these damn disasters brought me down on my knees.
But if I finish my chores, and you finish thine
We'll throw a gnomish party at the finish line!

We've been spending most our lives
Living in a Gnomish Paradise.
The sub is sinking? Roll them dice
Living in our Gnomish Paradise.
It's hard work and sacrifice
Living in this Gnomish Paradise.
No Kraken was enticed
To attack our Gnomish Paradise.

The Missiles armed to launch tryin' to blow up our ship
While the Gnomes all ran to stop them hopin' nobody tripped.
But I had the codes, so you know I took the lead
I knocked out those Missiles while I knocked back some mead.
But I ain't never got too drunk (well at least that's my story)
A passed out drunk Gnome loses out on the Glory.
We never wear shoes, 'cause our feet are so small
Our homies all know we're only 2 feet tall... Fool.
If you came down with us, you'de be cramped inside
You'de have no room to move, and even less room to hide.
So we're doing our best to make sure we don't sink
Working with the items made by Ozle Inc.

There's no air, no room, and no more grog
Not a single luxury
Like Robinson Crusoe
We're as primitive as can be.

We've been spending most our lives
Living in a Gnomish Paradise.
We almost sank just once or twice
Living in this Gnomish Paradise.
The Captain's quarters were real nice
Living in our Gnomish Paradise.
We live off eating grains and mice
Living in a Gnomish Paradise.

Pumping out the water, puttin' out the fire
Fixing up the engines, us Gnomes we never tire.
Think you're really fast? Think you're really smart?
Us Gnomes are a million times trained better than thou art.
We're the best example that the Navy wants to be like
Saving subs day and night, stayin' away from the afterlife.
So don't be lazy and don't be vain,
Or else the entire ship will start to sink and we'll go down the drain!

We've been spending most our lives
Living in a Gnomish Paradise.
Once we're out, then we'll all dry
Living in a Gnomish Paradise.
Get away, run for your lives
Living in a Gnomish Paradise.
This song is truly naught but lies
It was hell and not our Paradise.

Yetch.

I don't think there's anything useful you can do, Lekkit. Might as well spend 2 minutes fixing the thing that's at 80%.

What song is it to the tune of?

Originally "Gangsters Paradise" by Coolio

However it gained larger attention when Weird Al covered it for "Amish Paradise"

And in truth, the lyrics I wrote were with Amish Paradise in mind (as just a few lines are close to unchanged).

The anal-retentive side of me wants to demand to know what Lekkit's action will be before continuing on. But, really, it's not going to matter. It'd be cool if there was some impending disaster that Lekkit could fix in the last few minutes, but there is no such drama. He's locked in a room with a fully functional engine.

So I'll just kind make things up a little.

Player Action

Lekkit does a victory dance (1 minute).
Lekkit uploads dance to GnomeTube (1 minute).

No Faint Check

Hazards

Minute 1: Fire in room 1. Okay, now we know why Lekkit was dancing. Oxygen level goes down.
Minute 0: Stumble. Lekkit discards down to 1 item. And apparently he's not very good at dancing either.

Thank you all for playing. I am happy that this is the first time I played with the right rules. I misinterpreted two rules before (one made the game harder; the other made it easier), so I can legitimately count this as a victory. It could have gotten ugly, but it also helped at the end once we barricaded ourselves in the aft of the sub and kept the numbers up.

And I'm glad to see there were no craven cowards among you who would flee the sub…well, at least none with an actual aqualung.

I'll leave the sub in the final state for a bit. I may run this again, but it'll probably be after Origins. I may also keep the gnome count down. Having seven gnomes seemed to result in large unwieldy gaps between your turns. But that's just my perception. If you disagree, I'm up for listening.

I'll just blow a hole in the sub with my harpoon.  Then the room will flood and at least Lekkit and I will be fine (with our aqualungs).  I dunno what Galzria's gonna do :)

That's how you do it Galz! Glad DSell's lessons on rolling dice are finally paying off.

I don't think it's just those three we should be worried about. Things look bad for all of us.
