Bozzball announced in Witch's Brew that he'd be out for a few days. I had thought that meant 3-5 days, but I acknowledge that people have different ranges of what "few" means. And who knows if he got called away for longer for familial duties. He hasn't been on since the 21st, I believe.

I can certainly see wisdom in not having both Wharf and Warehouse. Sure, they both would be nice, but in an average game, I doubt you can justify spending that much money on both. One or the other, sure, but probably not both.

I look forward to seeing if someone can win without taking Hospice. It's such a useful building, that I can't imagine it'd be left alone in the first round of building. But, last game I played, I actually won without it, so it's possible...and satisfying.

Away from box at the moment, can anyone tell me how many of each building are in the game?

Then we are ready to start.

Glooble is governor and should choose her first move.

I think Hospice is actually a slightly overrated card. My friend group loved it the first few times we played, but now we almost never take it. You usually end up with too many workers sitting around at some point in the game, and there's a steep cost in the loss of money in the early game. On top of that you don't get to put your workers where you need them when you need them because you almost never take the mayor card. It is useful, but I'd usually be more inclined to take an early Quarry, or build a Small Market or Hacienda and save some money to get a more expensive production building earlier.

I agree. The buildings are incredibly well balanced. what buildings are a good a idea to buy depend on the kingdom on your position.

I thought everything in this game depended on the stupidity of your right neighbor. ;D

Then Jack Rudd is well-placed. (Assuming 2 is left of 1)

It's true XD.

But Jack is also badly placed because he is the last person who still gets indigo. Idk how much that actually matters in the long run though.

I had this last game I played and it sucked, I'd rather be the first one with Corn. Often I just try to get something else (Sugar or Tobacco) pretty fast.

Sorry! I wasn't in any games so I stopped checking the forum very often. I am taking my turn now!

Ok, I've only played this game once, so forgive me if I do something really dumb.

I will take the Settler.

Everyone (in turn order) needs to choose from

 * 1 Quarry (only available to Glooble)
 * 2 Corn
 * 2 Sugar
 * 1 Tobacco
 * 1 Coffee

First choice goes to Glooble

I will change the game state tomorrow morning UK time. For now, I am the builder, building a small market for 0 doubloons.
