Don't we? If we finish the Grail quest isn't it pretty awesome?

Siege Engine spam is never awesome

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

But I'd rather have Siege Engine's than just leave the Grail unbeaten. That's 3 White Swords (what we actually need to win), 4 more life points in the form of the Grail, and 7 White Cards which is something we could use to fight the Dragon.

Siege Engines are really, really terrible. Like, we can finish the grail later no problem. Some extra grail cards is a lot easier to get than killing a few Siege engines if they become trouble, and with every despair/desolation becoming one, you can be sure they will.

Yeah, seems like we could complete either Excalibur or the Grail. We're playing the equilibrium game with Excalibur. And as long as someone is there to feed poor cards, it will still be there for us. The Grail quest, however, is more difficult to complete. There is no dithering with this quest, as eventually despair overwhelms.

That being said, the dragon needs to be defeated as early as possible. So if you have those upper-level cards, then it wouldn't be a bad place to put them.

But as Jorbles said, we may get some great anti-dragon cards when the Grail quest is completed. But I do agree that not having Sir Kay to fight off siege engines is rather unfortunate.

Forsooth, I am of little use against the Dragon. I have many cards but nothing of the specialised interest such a quest may require.

Go to the Pict Quest, and spend a life to play 1.

I have to say that I'm worried about how divided we are.

With  my current hand, I can afford to face down this dragon for five more rounds. Of course, if the dragon strikes before then, I don't think I'll stand a chance.

Qvist, I forget: Must there always be a knight on the quest where cards are played? If I had to go somewhere, would this 4 that I played go away if no one else is on this quest?

No, only on Solo Quests.

Good to know.

Well, I'll keep on this dragon then. I have the ability to help out against the Picts, if we need to concentrate our efforts.

I'm a little confused why Bozz chose to go to the picts. That's a really dubious move, to be honest. Spreads us out more, and that 1 could have been easily thrown at Excalibur instead.

Still trying to understand what to do, was being rushed, and only responses were to not do specific things. This looked like a quest I could help with.

Play a grail

I'll likely head straight over to the dragon next turn. I've got some good cards for it now.

I don't think the current game state is correct. bozzball went to the picts quest and played 1, but it's showing him at Saxons and 1 unplayed.

Sir Percival Tables draws a Black Knight and plays it face down to draw a white card.
The Black Knight is lost 5 (one 3 and three 1s) to 0 and 1 Black Sword comes to Camelot.
Sir Percival Tables plays a Grail on the Holy Grail Quest.

Hmm, as it stands I could finish the Grail quest if no more Despair cards show up. With trading I could get someone else to help, which could speed it up, and if anyone else has the ability to help they could rush in without worry about trading.

We should seriously discuss whether we want this or not. Personally I think the 3 White swords make it worth it even if we do get Siege Engine spam. The extra cards we get from it could help us fight the Dragon, and having the Grail would be extremely beneficial.

The fact is, we've seen only one grail yet, meaning there's lots in the deck. That means we'd be seeing a LOT of siege engines, on average, which is a serious issue for us. We don't have Sir Kay, or Excalibur, to help fight siege engines, and we're using our high fights on the dragon, which means we'd be up the creek without a paddle.
