I think randomly in that case. If someone really wants to I'm fine letting them.

Also, I don't see anywhere you've mentioned the Bioterrorist's free move (drive/ferry once per turn, in addition to his two actions). But maybe I'm just blind.

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Game starts!

Starting cubes:

Seoul (3), Jakarta(3), Sydney (2), Taipei (1)
Chicago (3), London (2), Milan (1)
Baghdad (2), Karachi (1)

Player 1: Tables (Troubleshooter) 3 cards

Player 2: Davio (Containment Specialist) 3 cards

Player 3: mith (Archivist) 3 cards

Player 4: SwitchedFromStarcraft (Bio-Terrorist) 2 cards

I'll send card PMs in a second. Then:
SwitchedFromStarcraft (Bio-Terrorist) send me your starting city.

Well, at the risk of sounding difficult, the rules say that after the board is set up, the first player is chosen, the BT gets his two cards from the infection draw pile, THEN he decides on what city to start in.

Perhaps not, but from this:

I'll send card PMs in a second. Then:
SwitchedFromStarcraft (Bio-Terrorist) send me your starting city.

I interpreted that I had to tell you where I was starting, then you would send me my cards.

Question for the other 3 of you - How do you feel about me participating in your discussions? Said another way, are there any ground rules we could establish that would allow me to participate/contribute to your team as well?

I feel this is still a semi-coop, and would be happy to help out.

No problem.
I guess the Troubleshooter's ability can be revealed openly, right?

Tables (Troubleshooter) looks at the top 2 cards Lima, Los Angeles
Tables (Troubleshooter) is next

Actually, the rules say the BT should refrain from interrupting the players discussions, so maybe I should just stay out of it.  I will offer this though - I will review the informational posts that are usually made after each turn that detail the cards in the Infection Discard, the cards on the top of the Infection Draw pile, etc., and point out any errors.  The game state speaks for itself, so we don't want any inaccuracies perpetuated.

Qvist, do you have a mechanism for ensuring that when I choose to draw cards, you deal from the Infection Draw pile, rather than the Player's Draw pile.  Were I in your position, the latter would be a hard habit to break.

They look differently. So, I would notice this when there are different looking cards in your hand.

Ah, so you have the physical game out, and are actually manipulating game pieces, cards, etc.?

I think the cards being peeked at should usually be shown to me via PM. Sometimes it'll matter, in particular, if we have something like Commercial Travel Ban and I don't want the Bioterrorist knowing what's there. Usually fine though.

SFS, you should probably play to your wincon, and stay quietish during our turns. Keeping track of public information would be great though. This isn't F2F though, so as long as you don't spam the thread I doubt there'll be issues.

Right, here's what I have so far:
Direct flight to Jakarta (revealing Jakarta - Troubleshooter)
Build research center (discarding Jakarta)
treat twice(?)

Any thoughts on that?

Also, regarding strategy: We should probably be a bit reserved with revealing information, but shouldn't worry too much about it. Generally the rule I'd follow is, if you think something could be utilised - even if it might not be optimal, reveal you have it, otherwise, stay quiet. The main thing I'd note is, special events are really powerful, and a few of them we probably want to keep hidden until we spring them to defuse a nasty BT situation.

E.g. good: "I have airlift, we could use that to go deal with the cubes in X?"
Bad: "Just drew airlift!"

With the Containment Specialist following you, leaving Jakarta at two wouldn't be a bad idea if he wants to get over there (Chicago-Atlanta-Jakarta-Sydney, for example) and if you have something to do with the extra action. Otherwise, looks like a great first turn to me...

(FWIW, I can't do anything about our third hot spot in Seoul unless something up there is discarded for me to pick up. That may affect Davio's priorities.)
