Would some one care to take a stab at what might lead to the following win rate by card accumulation chart for Fool's Gold?

http://councilroom.com/win_rate_diff_accum.html?cards=Fool%27s%20Gold

I mean I almost always just ignore them, but that's just wacky!

The wackiest thing to me is that the median win rate when the split is even is not 1.

Otherwise, you get this even/odd thing. Well, on the odds, the FGs weren't all gained, whereas on the evens, they might well have been. And if the FGs weren't all gained, that means that whoever went for them, at least, probably didn't go whole hog for them. Certainly, you didn't have both players doing this. And both players doing this probably means FG is good, which probably means that it IS a good card there, which means the other situations it's more likely to be skippable, and the winrate falls accordingly.

I hope I can explain it to you.
When FG is strong, then it's a race for them and the pile will be empty. So there are 10 FG divided by two players. The difference in FGs will always be even (0,2,4,..) and the person which has more FGs is more likely to win.
When FG isn't strong the pile won't be empty and that are the cases when there is an odd difference. The win rate isn't so high in these cases. For example you open 5/2 while your opponent has 4/3, you open something/FG instead of something/nothing because FG is the only $2 cost on the board, but you won't buy more FGs. The win rate isn't that high and you have a difference of +1.

I mean I almost always just ignore them, but that's just wacky!

That may be a mistake. Mint+FG, Remodel+FG, Wharf+FG and many more ... are really strong.

BTW: Welcome here in the forum.

That's the case for most cards because of these strange people that play 3++ player games...

Ah, that makes sense, this chart shape is indicative of cards that are often pile driven to zero.  Thanks guys!
