Back from Essen and I had a blast.
I'm not that interested in picking up games, rather the experience on its own and maybe playtest a few games.
Well, it was different than planned. I picked up a lot of games, but only 2 new releases: "Legends of Andor II" and "Progress: Evolution of Technology". I can't wait to play both of these.
But my Dominion collection is now complete, I finally picked up Guilds and Intrigue. I also got the new Prince promo which came without a real randomizer card as the randomizer card has advertisement on the front, but oh well...
I also picked up at reasonable prices:
Legacy: The Testament of Duke de Crecy
Suburbia
Flash Point: Fire Rescue
Splendor
Android: Netrunner
and the Civilization expansion Fame and Fortune
I also met Watno at the Queen booth and
Michael Wißner.
I playtested Alchemists which was hyped like crazy. But it just didn't make it for me as it's probably too heavy and long to play with my wife and I'm still not convinced if I like that playing with a smartphone is a must. Also, the personal player board is really fiddly as the potion tokens are too big to fit into the holes. It was interesting though and I hope that I don't regret it not getting it.
I also playtested a game calles Time Masters. It is a deck builder that focussed on comboes. There is no currency to buy the cards, but you can buy a card with cost X if you have played X cards in that turn (and playing a card costs mana) which is a neat idea.
All in all it was great and I hope that I can go there again next year, but we'll see.
