I also don’t remember. I’m just taking his word for it.

It has always sounded like you do in fact object to me fixing the problem of Bonfire trashing arbitrary cards from play. It seems to me that you think of the Duration thing as a problem, but that's it; so, why not just non-Duration? But there was another problem and I fixed that one too.I continue to be happy to have fixed this broken card, despite your objections.
Well that's unfair and misleading. I never objected to it being fixed. Just to it being restricted to Coppers.

Changing Bonfire to non-Duration is a clear fix. What else needs to be done to avoid potentially problematic rules interactions? A per turn limit to avoid loops?

It always was weird that Storyteller gave 1 coin that would nearly always be spent by it on drawing; people remarked on this when it was first released.
Bonfire feels misnamed now that it only burns...Coppers? More of a "Smelt" event or something, sad to lose the flexibility.
Exploration was a weak project that you could sometimes do interesting non-buy gains with, but no longer. Even more ignorable now generally.
It seems very weird that Highway isn't on the list. Weird enough to make me think that it's about to be cut.
No longer will I be able to ask people the question "In what scenario can one spend the +$1 from Storyteller?" Admittedly not the greatest loss in the world.
I feel like then it would just be better than Duchy too often though. In a relateively normal game you expect to have 4 Provinces by the end of the game. If you also keep your Estates, it only takes 2 Silk Roads for them to be worth as much as Duchies.Silk Road always seemed weak to me. Would it be too good if it were 1 for every 3 instead of 1 for every 4?
I'm guessing that would be fine.

I enjoy the Android app and the bot is actually interesting to play against. It's a battery hog though.
Is that an invitation to post fan variants here? That's what it sounds like.
Guys, just let the game have wild combos.
There are plenty of cards in the game that warp it so much your usual strategies go out the window. Both players have equal access to the Collections and the Horses. If both show up at the same time, guess what? You get to contest a pile of good cards, just like every other game of Dominion.
If you’re playing for fun, there are exactly 0 people forcing you to use this combo. Replace Collections or replace the Horse gainer. If you’re playing ranked, the whole point of that game mode is to test your skills against other players in a variety of circumstances and see who is better able to adapt to unusual strategies.
No more errata. No more replacements or rules changes. Let the game be. If there’s a combo you don’t like, don’t put it on the board.
I haven't seen mentions of Collection + Populate. I suppose because Populate is just so expensive compared to something like Stampede. But still, seems a bit nuts.
if this is true absent some warning about the impending release/price reduction on the current stockpile of notably inferior cards (as per Donald X basically) this is kinda shady IMO.
I mean they are essentially printing $ with the new releases as many hard core dominionites will buy the 2nd edition too. You might as well fire-sale the old versions not dupe people into buying up the old inferior and soon to be outdated inventory.
It was a known issue, but what’s your suggested solution? Would it be better for Collection to have a confusing, hard-to-remember wording? It would be be great if the combo never came up in random sets online.
A possible solution could be to change the wording for Collection to "..., when you gain an Action card from the Supply, ...".
Even more nuts than Collection + Stampede: Collection + Cavalry + Academy + Way of the Butterfly.
Yes, this actually happened.
I just got into a game that was completely broken because of Collection + Stampede. It would be an endless game if the other player wouldn't resign. I think that's broken game design.
I also do not expect the next expansion to be released this year so as to keep the expansions spaced out.
Even here, the first response on this thread is a veteran player snarkily telling someone not to play with more than 2p.
Definitely agree it’s the competitive crowd who doesn’t like attacks. From my experience, I don’t think the idea of “not seeing your deck” that was a strike against Ambassador and Ghost Ship could really carry much weight with casuals who never draw their deck anyways. My friends definitely get frustrated when they draw two curses and an estate for their next hand, but they weren’t going to do much more than play two horses and a Workshop anyways, so it’s not hampering them nearly as much as someone who would’ve drawn deck otherwise.
It would make sense that casuals complain about attack more often in the sense that competitive players are more likely to be able to deal with the attacks well, but it is definitely the competitive players who complain about slow games. The casuals play slow games by default.
Source: am a casual, play with super-casuals, bummed about the attacks leaving.
Nothing gets to be on-buy anymore. It's being phased out everywhere, due to casual players not understanding the distinction between buying and gaining.
And, even for players who understand the distinction, it can be confusing how the timing of on-buy and on-gain effects differ.
