It would be possible to pin players with Fighter if you get 4 other travelers in play. You may need to trash your own deck but that was also the case with the old Masquerade pin and you can keep up to 4 cards safe.

Also that means it technically doesn't solve the problem where Warrior can cut off other players' Traveller lines (then they're safe once they hit Champion)

Personally thinking Warrior could simply say "non-Traveller" for trashing and it's otherwise fine and I never had a problem with Champion.

No because it only trashes cards from hand, and only from players with enough cards in hand. So all the cards in their deck are safe, and 4 cards in hand are safe.

No, your suggestion says "Per Traveller in play", so if you have 5 Travellers in play, each other player with 5 more more cards in hand trashes 5 cards from hand.

My initial biggest complaint is something that I think doesn't bother me as much now that I've gotten used to the idea. Very earliest game spoilers only:

When I found out that Shrines and Koroks existed still, in the same form, I was annoyed. I knew that assets and physics would be re-used from BOTW, but I had hoped the main structure of the game would differ more. I had fun hunting down all the koroks in BOTW, but that doesn't mean I want to go do that same thing again. It would have been easy to replace it with a different sort of collectable, which had different ways of obtaining them. And with Shrines, I thought there would be an entirely new way of doing those sorts of things. A different way of obtaining more hearts and stamina. Like I said it doesn't bug me as much now that I've had a couple days of playing with that knowledge, but it's still not quite what I was hoping for.

I would have been fine with an alternative to shrines, but I'm glad there are still Koroks. At least there are a bunch of new kinds of Korok puzzles. And in my very limited playtime post-tutorial-area, there are enough interesting and surprising things added that the Koroks are somewhat grounding. Some old, some new.

Iíve only just left the tutorial area. I love almost everything so far, except the gyro aiming. Thereís something wrong with it. It drifts oddly, making fine aiming incredibly challenging. I thought maybe it was my controllers or the Switch, but itís the game. I went back to Breath of the Wild and the gyro aiming is perfect there. I really hope they patch it, but Iím not optimistic.

See that the game designer himself advises prosperity and seaside. Think I am going for one of those 2.

I'd suggest getting Intrigue first, but Seaside could be good.

As for the card itself, I'd say it mostly seems like a very weak Shepherd.

Could be +2 Coffers, though that does seem like overdoing it a bit.

You don't need "revealed" when only discarding a single card. It's already public knowledge.

Now that some time has passed, what are your thoughts on the Loot pile in general? I think at this point, it's the least liked mechanic in Plunder?

Least liked by the competitive online community, which I will remind you makes up far less than 1% of the Dominion-playing world. Based on my IRL experience so far, I think Loot will end up being the most-liked mechanic in Plunder overall.

I thought there was some sort of mistake with Figurine and Longship being $5s. Figurine has proven itself as a solid $5 to me, and it's retroactively made me see Scepter and Capitalism as a lot stronger.

Jury's still out on Longship for me.

I don't tend to buy Longship much, though I should probably but it more.

Oh i got a whole category. Hunter, Ironworks, Transmute etc, cards that give you something based on type should have said "otherwise" when counting the victory cards. So it feels really weird with night cards, and chainging "victory card" to "otherwise" wouldnt make the cards more complex, rather simpler because you dont have to ask twice what happens with curses. Fortune teller does not have this problem, because it just counts victories and curses as "bad" cards.
"Otherwise" would mean you wouldn't get extra value from multi-typed cards

In fact my original design for what is now Hunter was "+1 Action. Reveal the top 4 cards of your deck. Discard them one at a time until no two share a type. Put the rest into your hand." But being extra good with multi-type cards was way more interesting than being awful with them.

Distant Shores.  Why does the 6 cost elite card in a pile spam me with estates? It should have been made as a +1 vp and exile an estate.

The Allies expansion doesnít have an Exile mat. Just donít buy Distant Shore so early.

I usually avoid it altogether, though sometimes very late it is ok.

I guess if the exile mat is a problem then just make it +1 vp token.  the elite card in any pile shouldn't spam with junk.

Allies doesnít have VP tokens either.

When Alchemy was previewed but not yet released, I was actually worried Potion would be in every game. Why? Swindler.

War Chest: My other favourite of the direct replacements. Amazing how such a simple tweak on the same mechanic can go from a card you regret buying to something very fun as you try to determine what card it is your opponent really wants. Really good non-attack interactivity.

I pitched the published effect of War Chest, hooray!

It appears that Alchemy was rushed to publication and did not get the level of play-testing it deserved.
Uh huh. And how much testing have these cards here gotten?

Hero: A BM card in a line that exclusively helps engines? And the treasure gaining isnt even optional. No matter what strategy you use, this line always has a card that you really dont want but have to play.

This is great actually. If all five members of the Page line were engine components, it would just be a one-pile engine. That would be bad design. Sauna/Avanto sort of shows how this can happen.

I didn't get around to voting, but it's interesting how weak people are ranking Fortune Hunter.

It's very often at least a Terminal Gold and it has a few other tricks up its sleeve. It's also likely to come up in people's experiences in "extra plunder" games, giving it more Treasures to interact with. That's setting it up to be seen as very strong, and I thought Terminal Gold was already considered too good for $4. So it's very interesting that even in first impressions something similar to it in power isn't really impressing anybody.

I wonder how strong a Terminal Gold actually is.
I think it is a simple matter. LastFootnote has argued that Adventurer is a $2, i.e. digging for Treasure is not better than drawing. So Fortune Hunter is similar to +2 Coins, +1 Card which is weaker than Smithy. Smithy is a strong $4, so Fortune Hunter is a weak $4.

That sounds like something I would say, but Fortune Hunter is different from Adventurer in a lot of important ways. Adventurer's base value is +$2, and you have to work pretty hard to make it reliably better. Fortune Hunter's base value is +$3. It can whiff more easily than Adventurer, but it's still not likely to in the kind of deck where you want it. But perhaps equally important, Fortune Hunter puts the other cards back instead of discarding them. So it's effectively pulling a Copper out of your next hand (or next draw if you didn't play it at the end of your Action phase). That's usually a pretty nice side benefit. Also, Fortune Hunter sometimes lets you choose between different Treasures, and you can smooth out your money a bit that way. You can even opt not to play any of the Treasures! With Adventurer you're stuck with whatever you get.

I donít think Pirate is great for new players because itís a really unexpected reaction. Reactions were 99% focused on deflecting Attacks until Hinterlands, I believe. The one Reaction that did not explicitly respond to attacks was Watchtower, but Watchtower can essentially only respond to junking attacks until you get to cards like Cache or Ball.

Watchtower can also be used to top-deck cards you buy, etc.

I've thought about this. It would require a lot of cards that currently say "gain" to instead say "buy or gain", which I think is potentially the biggest issue.

Tools was originally a terminal Action that cost $5, and I bought it plenty at that time. But nobody at Donald X.'s table would touch it, so *shrug*.

Treasure - $5
+1 Buy
This turn, when you gain an Action card, if it's the first time you gained a copy of it this turn +1VP

Thematic with the name and removes the broken interactions with horse gainers.

This was actually one of the tested versions, except it worked on all card types. We also noted that it was thematic. But tracer complained it worked on junk. Too easy to get lots of VP from Copper, Curse, Estate he felt.

These increasingly difficult quizzes have been updated for Plunder.

I'm really surprised King's Cache is able to cost $7 without any extra abilities while Tiara needs a buy and topdecking to cost the same as Throne Room.

Although I'm not an expert, my take is this: King's Cache is a reasonable $7 card. King's Court is a crazy-strong $7 card. It's not King's Cache that's the outlier here.

"Landscapes" is what I use.

I guess that makes sense. If I say "what landscapes are in the kingdom?" you're not going to say "Misery"

You might say "Plateau Shepherds", and are Allies landscapes? I could see an argument both ways.
