For clarity: I had posted counter information a bit earlier but removed it.  Grujah made this post based on the info that has now been reposted.  The post has not changed.

Sup guys?

I'm a vanilla townie.  :D

Accoring to wiki, a true VT should actually claim, if such exists.
http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Role_Madness

Massclaim could be a good thing.
I am not sure how much eHal though about it, but if we have few confirmed townies reveal themselves, it is possible that we could just amass VPs like crazy.
My thoughts exactly. If a VT can substantiate his claim there is no reason not to claim immediately.

When I read my role PM, I just thought wow I really got a role which is as close to VT as possible. I cannot even transfer to someone else the 1 VP I gain every turn.

On the other hand, I just made up the unlynchability... thought that should be an ability for a monument... I guess it's probably not that a good idea to joke with it. At the very least my claim can be partially verified d2 when I gain 1 VP.

Vote: Timchen because he's either lying or we can prove he's town.

Even if timchen's claim is true, why would you assume Monument is a Deck role?

The most obvious reason is that you already know he's Deck-aligned.

And the most likely reason you'd know that, is that you're Curse-aligned.

Vote: Tables

Or, once again, it's a role madness game, not a bastard mod game. Unlynchable mafia is one of the most bastard things you can add to a game.

But now he retracts his claim, so Unvote: Timchen

So now, someone is suspicious to me. They made a claim and retracted when they got a little pressure. Vote: Timchen.

So lekkit, robz and shark_bait have -1vp. So you guys know how that happened? it might provide insight to find curse aligned players

Tables, I don't understand what you are trying to say.

I do.  And he makes a good point, one I'd overlooked.  Unlynchable scum IS a Bastard Mod move.  So Unvote.

timchen's lying about being unlynchable and then immediately retracting it is - strange, yes, and probably not good play.  But it reads bad town rather than bad scum to me.

Captain_Frisk:  Say you're a Doctor (or Doctor variant).  Say a massclaim starts up.  Do you disclose your role truthfully?  If not, why not?

So lekkit, robz and shark_bait have -1vp. So you guys know how that happened? it might provide insight to find curse aligned players

Insomniac:  They all voted for Axxle while he had an Embargo token next to his name.  Which he no longer has.  I assume the one caused the other.

Good question: Well - in this game - doctors (Moats?) wouldn't be that strong - right?  They would prevent cursing, but the mafia can't outright kill in this game.  I guess as someone got closer to -10vp, they could protect them.

So what is the answer to my question?

I honestly don't know.  I'm going to say I would probably claim and hope for the best.  Mafia will need 3 days to kill me - and thats if they focus fire.  Hopefully someone can protect me.

No, Woodcutter. ;)

I wonder what a woodcutter would do actually? Would it be worthwhile for someone too compile a list of card names with possible game-effects? Just saying "I'm a woodcutter" or "I'm a Harem" or "I'm a Monument" doesn't do us much good if we don't even have guesses as to what those roles might do.

There's this thing where I cannot relate my Domion card effect with what my role does. So I do not know how much useful would that be, Galz.

Ah, nevermind then. I mean, mine's not exact, but I can see a correlation.

So even an unvote caused one to get cursed from what we can almost safely assume was an embargo.

Hmm... The "Embargo" wasn't trashed after being used the first time. Also, Axxle, how much did you know about this?

I see some potential oversight here, so I think I should remind everyone that the Curse faction each have individual roles as well.  As should be easy to guess, there is strong likelihood that some of them provide extra ways to distribute -VP beyond the -4VP that they get as a collective.  This does not mean that they are able to bring someone down from 0 to -10VP... but neither does it mean they can't.

If you have not fully read the OP, especially the Game Setup portion, I highly encourage you to do so lest you make some bad assumptions.  Unless it is a particularly bad assumption, I will not give any more warnings after this one.

Hey guys! I've obviously been paying more attention to the end of Mafia IV today and I don't know how much I'll be on this weekend, but I'm excited to play a more zany game.

I would think he clearly new about it.  The fact that he immediately voted for me was asking for retaliation.  He then knew that people would vote for him thus getting negative VP.  All in all, it seems quite curse aligned to me.

Here's my fear about mass claiming.

One pitfall can be when there's a role that has to do with rolenames.

And I think a Wishing Well or Contraband type role might exist.
