Discussion/question:
Would hydras cause more good or more harm to forum gaming? A hydra is two people sharing a player position in the game, and both being fully empowered to make choices.
The drawback is that you have to share control of the game with someone else. The possible upside I was wondering about, is how much it could increase the speed of games. It seems like oftentimes the pace is pretty fast in general, but then one particular player is unable to move for an atypically long period of time, and things bog down when EVERYONE has to wait for me, sleeping off getting so sloshed with my friends that I played Market-Moneylender-BigMoney a participant with very pressing work related matters to attend to.
I'm wondering if maybe you'd get to participate to half the extent, but then games wouldn't go twice as fast, but rather five times as fast, due to the chokepoint effect.
Of course, the moderator could still be a chokepoint, but having a co-moderator could increase that consistency as well.
