I think it's reasonable to suggest that the "worth" of watching any tournament depends on what you will get out of watching it.  Even games between non-top players may still have interesting analysis and commentary from the players.  The great thing about GokoDom is that it will generate, at a minimum, 390 games that will be posted, many of which will be discussed.  There are interesting combos to see in many of them.

Heh, you're right!  I missed two somehow.

Also, a lot of top 100 players.  Frankly half the field is in the (old) 30+ range.

One, you can't really "watch" it. I mean, you sort of can, and you can follow it, but there is no spectator mode (yet?), so it's not like you can really watch it while it's in progress. Two, whether it's worth watching or not depends on how you value the thing relative to other things (or for shorthand, how you value your time) - which is something that will vary from person to person. Three, the highest rated players on Goko are nto all that much related to the best players on Goko. Four, please realize that you aren't the highest rated player on Goko - Astrosity is. And you aren't the second-highest, either - that's actually me at the moment.

Not to sound (too) negative, but generally Pro Rating would be the only rating people would (and should) look at.

So play more random (as an integrity check) and don't get your feelings hurt in the mean-time.

Let me just second this. Only the pro rating is going to count in the eyes of the Forum community, at least.

I checked the leaderboard and didn't even find Ooksoo in the first two pages. Only after Robz' post I considered looking at the casual rating (and stopped wondering about WW's comment no. 4). No bad intentions from my side, just unintentional support for Robz' view.

Seriously, I wish we could have that show as our main rating, it's the only meaningful one.  Casual rating can be easily gamed with pre-made sets.

Not sure what you are trying to say ooksoo, but the difference is that the kingdom is random what guarantees that the host of the game can't cheat by picking the same kingdom over and over again. That's why Pro Rating is a much more accurate rating.

Maybe. I still don't know whether the pro ratings are actually accurate either though, time will tell. I'm like #10 and I really don't feel I belong there, I wasn't anywhere near the top 10 on iso. But WanderingWinder got to #2 so that's probably a good sign for the rating system.

They are available in pro mode though the randomization is fucked up so that you get Colonies less often than you should. Btw, I do like that you made it to #2 on the Pro Leaderboard out of nowhere within a day of having a big mouth in this thread.

I have the same feeling - I've been as high as 5 on the Pro and I was only a low to mid 30s player on Iso. I'm assuming though that it's starting to level out with the more games I play. I did play a couple games last night against people who weren't especially high on the rankings and didn't really gain points with wins. Without that auto-match I pretty much just accept that first person that joins up.

Any way, ooksoo, I think this got kinda lost in the rating discussion. It's not that you were'nt invited to the tournament, you simply weren't aware of it. It's kinda impossible to inform all players on Goko that this is happening.
But I'm quite confident there will be a new season after this one, and you can play in that one.
