Agricola Rulebook

When creating an Agricola game at boiteajeux.net, it allows you to enter the names (boiteajeux usernames, so you'll have to be registered there) of guests to play in the game. For the first week after the game is created, only the invited guests are allowed to join.

I think this would work pretty well if anyone else wanted to play a game of Agricola; it's a quite a lot of info to track and display for a standard PBF, and the BaJ client is pretty nice.

some more info on BaJ's Agricola:
Your score is always visible, it keeps a nice history of the actions

3 choices for 'Variant' - Family, Advanced, Tournament. Family and Advanced are straight from the Agricola rulebook, Tournament is Advanced with some cards banned (the list of bans is available here)

Include any of the Beginner (E), Interactive (I), and Complex (K) decks (these are just the decks that come with base Agricola; also it looks like it doesn't have quite all the cards)

3 options for Distribution of cards at the beginning of the game - Random, Draft, 10-7. In Draft, you choose one Occupation and one Minor Improvement from a hand, then pass that hand to the next player, and so on. In 10-7 you are dealt 10 Occupations and 10 Minor Improvements, and you pick which 7 of each to keep.

Is there any interest in doing this?

When you want to sign up, be sure to let me know what your username at BaJ is, and include your preferences for the variant/decks/distribution to use.

Yeah, I would be in. Never played it though, but willing to learn if you don't mind.

Have you ever played Puerto Rico?

EDIT: I see your in the PBF.

It's like puerto rico but with different actions. and new actions available each round. Instead of everyone getting the action you choose you are greedy and only you get it.

Sounds good. I've taught the game 5-6 times IRL, hopefully I can do it just as well without the physical board in front of us ;)

Let's say it differently. I know Agricola. (Of course I know it, it's one of the best games according to BGG) So I know the theme and the basic mechanics, but I never played it, so I still have to read the rules and learn it from the start.

No worries, I will read the rules and may just ask some questions at the first couple of rounds.

Tbh, I don't see much similarity between those games.

I'd love to be in, but busy in the next month or so, so I don't wanna join more games atm :(

Cool. Also, be sure to let me know your username when you've registered at BaJ (also I added that to the OP)

Are those cards banned in Tournament because they are too powerful?

I'd be up for a game, but would strongly prefer fewer than 5. If you split into smaller games (or if someone feels like playing a 2-player), let me know. (Same username.)

Yeah. The wording the site specifically uses is "considered as overpowered in most of tournaments".

If 3 is fine we could start with you, me and Qvist now. I wouldn't mind splitting it up/making more games (since the 'mod' work for this is just making the thread here and the game at BaJ)

That would be fine with me. (And 10/7 is fine, or whatever really. Draft is probably a bad idea for a new player though. :))

Should we make it Advanced or Tournament?
And Qvist, are you fine with 10-7?

I have no idea what 10-7 means and just started reading the rules. Do whatever you want. I try to finish reading the rules today after work.

Is there an option to get an email notification when it is your turn?

http://www.boiteajeux.net/index.php?p=infos

Quote
WHAT IS THE EMAIL ADDRESS FOR ?
You will receive an email at 7am and 7pm (GMT +1) only if other players are waiting for you to play. This email will contain the list of related games.
With your registration (validated by email), you have access to the portal forum, where you can discuss with other players.

So it looks like you'd only get an email once per day, if it happens to be your turn at the right time...I don't know if there's a way to make it notify you every turn.

So it turns out you can sort of spectate at BaJ, if anyone happens to be interested in how the game's going. (also adding link in the OP)

Maybe we could message each other here. So you take your turn, then PM the next player that it's their turn.
