Posologist / Apothecary
2P

+2 Actions
+1 Buy
Reveal the top 4 cards of your deck. Put the Posologists and Silvers into your hand. Put the rest back in any order.

A spin on a well beloved classic. Gets you a whole ton of silvers and even itself, with the buy that this needs, but you rely on silvers, it doesnt have potion support, it isnt a cantrip and so i think it wouldnt work as a standalone piece in bm.

Looks significantly weaker than the original. The marginal benefit of extra Buys decreases and this can easily draw nothing.

Yes; not having the +card is a monumental nerf.

Hopefully removed cards are fair game.

Quote
Global Embargo | Treasure - Duration | $4
Exile a card costing up to $6 from the Supply.

The next time anyone gains a copy of that card, they gain a Curse, and you discard your exiled card.

I like the mechanic of embargo, so wanted to play off of it, and create a version that would actually get used! This actually hits opponents harder than embargo, since they get cursed, and you get to take that gained card out of exile. For the attack reason, it's stronger than Camel Train, although you don't get a gold with it. You also can Exile Duchies with this, nice! However once someone else gains a duchy, yours will be released into your deck again.

If everyone avoids your embargo'd card, well then you can buy it yourself, at the cost of a curse. In that way, it operates more like a Cursed Gold with a +buy -- it's like you can pay for an expensive card (exilling it), though the gain is delayed, you get a curse,,and you actually have to be able to afford that card later on. Global Embargoes are also slow since the sit around until they do something.

One counter to the Global Embargo is to use Global Embargos yourself! Since exiling does not mean gaining, it doesn't trigger. This might make it seem like it makes everyone buy up the embargos -- they stack, so someone might get double cursed, which means they probably won't buy the card, so then YOUR global embargos sit around forever doing nothing, which makes them weak and then everyone WON'T buy up the global embargoes. So it's dynamic. Maybe everyone tries to play around that good card, or maybe that card is good enough that you suck it up and get heavily cursed.

Here is a bunch and maybe more to come, please consider Devil's Cellar my submission for now :)
Let me know if any of these don't qualify.

It's just a phase(?)
Quote
Young Jester
$2 Action - Attack
+$1
Each other player reveals the top card of their deck. If it's an Action or Treasure costing $3 or more, they discard it, otherwise they put it back.
You may trash this to gain a copy of one of the discarded cards.

Suddenly trashing Provinces with Bishop is VERY fun.
Quote
Island Bishop
$6 Action
+$2
Put a card from your hand onto your Island mat.
+1 VP per $2 ist costs (round down).

Know what you want.
Quote
Devil's Cellar
$5 Night
Look at the top 5 cards of your deck and discard any number of them. If the number of cards you've discarded is:
5, gain a Loot.
0, gain an Imp.

Silky.
Quote
Exotic Fairgrounds
$3 Victory
Worth 1 VP per 4 differently named cards you have more copies of than any other player (round down).
-
When you gain or trash this: +1 Villager, +1 Coffers.

And in honour of your post title:
Quote
Ninja Pirate
$5 Action - Attack - Reaction
At the start of your next turn, gain a Treasure costing up to $6.
If it's not your turn, each other player discards down to 4 cards in hand.
-
When another player gains a Treasure, you may play this from your hand.

EDIT: Fixed a word, thanks silverspawn!

Quote
Mischievous Courtier - $4
Action/Attack

+1 Card
Reveal a non-Victory card from your hand. Choose one or all:
You gain a copy of it; each opponent gains a copy of it; +1 Action per type it has.

A Courtier that has some Jester in them.

Quote
Pirate Souk/Pirate Forge • Randomizer
This pile starts with as many copies of each card as players, but minimum three and maximum five. All copies of Pirate Souk are are on top.

Pirate Souk • $4 • Action - Reaction
If you have four Action cards in play, including this, +$3; otherwise +1 Buy and +$2.
-
If you have four Action cards in play, you may play this from your Hand.

Pirate Forge • @8 • Action
Trash up to three cards from your hand. Gain a card costing up to the total trashed cards' cost in $.
-
While you have this is in play Coppers cost $1.
:)
So i made eleven different cards, five in split piles. Since the other entry didn't seam popular, i'll try this one.
This split pile has a weaker Souk and a stronger Forge. Hopefully you like this better.

Instead of gain a Plunder, did you mean gain a Loot?

ROYAL WINDMILL

Quote
Royal Windmill
8 Debt
Action - Victory

+2 Cards
+1 Action
Discard three cards, Revealed. If their combined cost is $8 or more, +$5 and +1 Buy

-
2VP

A windmill that can become a platinum, but is far more demanding then the original mill. If you draw this with a province then your in luck, but if you draw this without any sutible discards, then this is a worse warehouse.
Debt cards are meant to not be good on turn 1, so i tried to design this with that mentality in mind.
I hope this fits within the contests rules.

edit:
added "revealed" to the card. i dont know why the card text gets tiny from just that.

A night festival!
Thought the idea of making a festival that can bring you back to your buy phase is pretty interesting- as long as there are some good action cards to work well with it.

This needs to reveal the discarded cards (see Shepherd, Silos, Witch Hut), since only the top discarded card is public info by default.

Idgi. Nonterninal woodcutter plus significant extra benefit seems bonkers on a 5$.

I think its balanced- a regular festival gives you +2 actions anyway so is not terminal, while this lets you play 2 actions in your night phase which may or may not be useful. Granted that hhis card is more powerful in a big money strategy with good draw actions.

Regular Festival gives you one net action, not two, and its major disadvantage is that it can be drawn dead. Night Festival + any card that draws cards is going to be extremely strong. Night Festival is your village (a +3 action village!) and your payload and your +buys and can't be drawn dead. Not returning to your action phase is barely a disadvantage, especially if you get to resolve your first Action card before deciding whether to play a second one (do you?). I mean Smithy+Festival is a reasonable engine and this is so much better. Who cares that you can't return to your Action phase if you have a card that repeatedly allows you to play Actions cards?

Retracted semi-joke entry. Submission is Sheepherder, below.

Countess - Action, $6 + 6 Debt
Choose one: Trash two cards from your hand; or discard three cards; or look at the top four cards of your deck, discard any number, and put the rest back in any order.
Choose one: Gain a card costing up to $5 on your deck; or gain a Gold to your hand; or gain a non-Victory card with cost exactly equal to the total cost in $ of the moved cards.

A lot of words for something that's... probably broken, but still worth submitting at the very least so I can know how garbage it is. An obvious partner to Count, though Altar has a bit of snuck-in inspiration there as well.

FAQ: If you move cards in multiple ways through Elder (e.g both trashing and discarding), the total cost in $ counts all of them.

Sheepherder - Action, $3
+$2. You may discard any number of Action cards for +$2 each.

Tied to a Way, which I don't think any other submission does here. Unlike my previous entry, this one's short and sweet.
