Night 1 I investigated Joseph and got result Town. So I know I'm not insane.

Ah, the wrath of joth.

Cop vs Insane cop. I'm assuming the design is they're each equally likely. So a single result is meaningless, unless that person dies.

As fang said, he didn't know anything during D2 since Cops can be insane. though he could have phrased this more clearly.

Though it would be ironic if the game was lost due to a misplay from joth  ;D

No misplay, that was a deadly serious vote. But I will wait for the rest of the claims before I say more.

Catching up now...

The fact I could see any of 4 of the 6 of you being scum here is frustrating.

I hear you. I don't think I have any solid reads this game, just keeping seeing little things everewhere that could be scummy, but are most likely innocent (except for the one that isn't!). Some examples:

4?

This feels like it could be scum trying to get more detail on who the IC thinks is town...

Anyways this is likely XyLo, so we should do some claiming. Dylan, do you want to make a claiming order?

mass claiming definitely makes sense. But it also seems obvious, so could this be a scum!faust trying to grt towen cred by suggesting it before someone else does? Especially considering, scum now knows that a (likely the?) role cop is dead, so fake claims are more safe?

I agree on the mass claim.

I am like super angry about yesterday. I don’t like it when people play massively against their win con. I know it wasn’t on purpose but geez louise. Scum has just gotten to sit back this game while we defeat ourselves.

I think we can all agree we're angry (well, I guess scum wouldn't be) about what happened, but this feels a little over the top in level of outrage. Also, technically it was D1 I'm more angry about, not yesterday. I do think D2 went surprisingly quick, though, and merits a re read through.

joth, did you mean D1 or D2?

I mean, true, but it's not like it would have been the end of the world if my vote hadn't turned out to be the hammer. It was most likely the hammer, and so it was the right thing to post intent. Not sure why people are getting hung up on this.
It could have been a scumslip, revealing that you knew for a fact that Dylan had not been blocked.
For someone who once voted for someone just for making a scumslip argument you seem to give them an awful amount of consideration.
Of course I consider them. And you don't? My fang vote wasn't because he invoked the scumslip concept.
I don't really, no. 90% of the time they are a distraction. I think it's a very simplistic form of scumhunting, looking at a single post to justify a read. It's better to consider the whole context, and that often gets swept under the rug in favor of a binary "I do/do not think that this post was a scumslip".

I hope this doesn't open up a can of worms into a big discussion on this - since we shouldn't waste our day on it, but I have to disagree with faust here. Sure there are superficial accused scumslips and those are often useless. BUT there's a case to be made for scumslips that are when scum post something which they know to be 100% certain, but town would not actually know that. Those do happen and are very useful.

I had my own dance of DONE moment last month with a work thing, so congrats Didds!

Massclaim order:
fang
faust
Didds
EFHW
joth
scola

Might be the first time I've ever had to set one of these, and I've probably got it all wrong, but I can take comfort in the fact that even if I get literally everything wrong for the rest of the game, none of those mistakes will be the ones that are remembered from this game lol

I'm curious, why do we always ask the IC to come up with the list? especially today, when it's still very early, it would have been useful (to me, at least) to see what order others put their claim list in. In fact, by having Dylan do it, it gives us a sense of his reads which I think we'd be better off if they weren't revealed (see my EFHW quote from above, as well).

This is towny, since town!joth's vote on town!fang risks a quick exile.

On D2, I only see one post from fang from day start to exile:

There could be two mayors and a drunk on the wagon.

I mean, technically possible. If there is another drunkmayor on the wagon, you pretty much have to claim now, and if you don't it's a scum claim later.
Well joth would have claimed by now, and both fang and me have already claimed non-Mayor.
<checks PM> No still not mayor.

So, er, Joseph, why did you target Dylan?

Um, what does it even mean for Joseph to target Dylan in this context? Or is this assuming Joseph was scum? While having a town result on him?

We do it because it's the only way to get anyone to agree on anything.

Also at this point I don't see any advantage in Dylan's reads not being revealed.

I had a big one in BSG S1, though luckily for me at the time, no one caught it.

Dylan, instead of Joseph. Though I see now, I mistyped an extra "not". It should read "that could just as easily be a mistake.", i.e. this feels like joth just accidentally mistyped to wrong name.

I disagree - especially in this case where our IC has 2 votes.  You neglect my argument for wanting to learn about others' chosen order though. Do you not agree that could be useful data?
