I really don’t want Jack to win because I think he has a higher-than-average chance of being scum. EFHW? gkrieg? Either of you planning to run for President, or will I have to do it myself?

I'm military, so I'm waiting to hear faust's answer to my question.

Yup same here.

If a military player nominates themselves are they also volunteering to give up their powers? I know refusing leads to a turning point. Does the military player still become president in that case?
They still have the option to keep their powers and trigger a turning point. I cannot share what would happen in that case.

My memory was faulty; Insurrection was an N2 discard.

N1 discards: Military Police Force, Special Counsel

N2 discards: Curfew, Insurrection, Prioritize

N3 discards: Civilian Jurisdiction, Isolate Colonial One

Man, I've been seeing the list of discards in my QT all this time and only just twigged that the N2 list had seven cards in it. Counting, I am not good at it.

I think we should wait to see if we are going to do the double night thing before deciding on Mass Claim. If we do the double night thing... probably best to wait?

I don't think we should do the double night thing. That's a 2 town for one scum, if we happen to pick the right person. And we can't pick Dylan or LL. I'm thinking I would have 1/3 chance of picking scum from this group.

It's potentially even worse than that, bearing in mind that Special Counselling a player is wasted if they end up being eliminated on the day you play that order on them.

WCD discarded Insurrection rather than force Mix to deal with it, which I suppose is a pro-Mix move, if nothing else.

That is incorrect. I threw out Prioritize and then Civilian jurisdiction. Still pro-MiX moves,  but also not anti-military.

Wait hold on... how is this like "inconsistent?" Jack you get to see the discard pile right? How do you see something but that is not what happened?

He sees the discard pile. He said I discarded insurrection…I did not. MiX discarded that one when he chose The presidential pardon.

This is not a big deal. I’m not saying Jack is lying, just that he is reading the discard pile wrong.

The public vote seems pro-town at least. Why would it make you hesitant when the Cylons vote didn't?

It’s the out of the blue part that rubbed me the wrong way. I didn’t like the cylon vote, but we knew it existed. The public appeared out of nowhere with the hammer, and now it’s gone again. It worked out fine because Scola was scum, but if he hadn’t been, we’d all be way more agitated about it.

Between cylons and public….2 votes (X-2) could be exile.

I think the public vote was likely MiX’s day power.

I don’t see MiX keeping that quiet…. And he was clearly confused when it happened.

Didds, what are your thoughts about Swowl?

So, you know that I have a hard time reading him. I always think he’s town. In fact, I can’t think of a time when I didn’t think he was town. So, I fully recognize I have a huge blind spot for him. That said, I can’t point to anything scummy other than just being rather more absent than he is in games where he is super active. He’s the only one in his time zone right now, so there is a delay that hurts conversation, I think. All of that is a long way of saying “meh”.

WCD - what happens if you do not pick the Special Counsel card. Do the other ones get re-shuffled? Or is it just no cards today?

I have no idea! The text is that I can discard it or it goes to the president.

It should have been the case that they were all reshuffled last night based on the set up

“Executive order deck

The contents of the Executive Order deck are public knowledge, as well as the size of the draw and discard pile. However, the exact contents of draw and discard pile are not public knowledge. Whenever you would draw from the Executive Order deck and there are less than 3 cards left, shuffle all cards into the deck. Executive orders that are enacted remain activated (and thus not in the deck or discard) until they no longer have an effect, at which point they are discarded.”

I am assuming not reshuffling them was a turning point? Maybe the turning point from scolas poisoning?

Agreed, but what I was really objecting to is the certainty that he used in this statement:

WCD discarded Insurrection rather than force Mix to deal with it, which I suppose is a pro-Mix move, if nothing else.

He doesn’t know what I did and what MiX did. Just what MiX chose and what was in the discard pile. But he doesn’t cast it like that. He is saying it like he knows what I did and then he goes on to add motive (I did it rather than force MiX to deal with it). What I chose and why…. these are things Jack does NOT know.

While I volunteered, Glooble might be a better choice since he's probably a civilian, and if not, he said his powers aren't very useful.

I had intended to post about why I chose my discards and I went back and looked at the QT to verify my choices…. The first error I assumed was an oversight and then there was a mischaracterization.

Then I went to my qt to verify… Jack is wrong and/or lying here. These were 100% not the N2 discards, and those couldn’t have been the N1 discards. This is not adding up. Special counsel is the card I have right now. If it was a N1 discard why do I have it, and moreover how did Jack predict that I had it if he thought it had already been discarded? He has three discards listed on N2 and that is not accurate either.

N1 discards: Military Police Force, Special Counsel

N2 discards: Curfew, Insurrection, Prioritize

N3 discards: Civilian Jurisdiction, Isolate Colonial One

Man, I've been seeing the list of discards in my QT all this time and only just twigged that the N2 list had seven cards in it. Counting, I am not good at it.

Are you taking reshuffles into account? It is confusing that he would have 3 discards for N1, when there should only be 2.

Not Jack? I will admit I’m getting het up about his discard deck errors so that can be coloring my vision. Why Swowl?

PPE: no, I’m not taking reshuffles into account because there shouldn’t have been a reshuffle until today. If there was a reshuffle, how did he know I was holding special counsel?
