Can I have my role pm?

Frisk is of course the worst..

A game of mafia has 3 potential high points:

1. Getting your role PM
2. Day 1 RVS
3. Day 2+ Lynch crazy times

No game is under 13 players these days unfortunately because every mod has so much they want to fit in.

One day somebody will do a standard mafia game of 9 people and i'll bloody miss the sign up

If you're willing to live without flavor, I'll mod a standard 9.

Yes, yes, a googlplex times yes!.
Also, after a couple more games, I would be willing to mod a game.

Question for all: Would it be a good idea to start a separate queue for such games (9-person, limited theme/flavor)?  I wouldn't want to interfere with the existing queue, but I don't think I'm the only person who isn't interested in RM or BM or switch.

Noooooooo. Adding MORE mafia games running concurrently will just slow down the ones that are running now.
Because 50% of the same people would sign up for them anyway.

unless its a newbie one (that could come under the 'other') and is actually restricted to newish players rather than the last few that were full of vets!)

That's it - I'm claiming MXX.

N00b friendly "standard" 9 player game - most likely using this setup:

I can see your point.  What happens if the trend towards BM and RM and other variants continues, and no one sets up a plain game again?

I'm happy to start it if a full compliment of newish players were found), but if it ends up being:

SFS, Ozle, RobZ, Galzria, Eevee, VoltGloss, Shraeye, eHalc, eHunt, Insomniac) then I agree with Ozle - its not right to start it.

SFS - have a look at the switch setup - its far from role madness.  It's a pretty vanilla game!

I can't speak for the rest but I'm probably gonna sit out of mafia for a bit, I'm a bit mafiaed out right now.

I looked, and have commented elsewhere.  It doesn't interest me, for 3 reasons.  The on-off switches add another layer to the analysis that I don't want to have to deal with yet; with my shuffle luck, I'd finally be a PR and get switched off night one, then get lynched Day 1; and I prefer 9-person games (or blitz), so things don't drag on forever.

Well - you said you wanted in - and you wanted a noob game.  Ozle doesn't actually play much, and he said he wanted a 9 player.  Then i backfilled with all of the regular trolls and ObvScum Insomniac.

I think its more a question of how active you are in the other games.  I would say you wouldn't count for purposes of early launching such a game, because distracting players from the other games is exactly why we don't launch all the games.

I'm angry that I agreed to mod it, because I want to play!

All it needs is for someone to do a plain game and add it to the queue...then just wait till their turn.

There are bound to be people out there who don't want to run one full of flavour and tricks and schemes! Its hard work modding flavoursome games!

LOL at how that all sounds.  With only one regular game on my resume, I'm simultaneously worried about being allowed into a newb game and espousing personal preferences on what games will work.

Under the premise that I'd rather be part of the solution than be a problem, I'll moderate MXXI.  It will also be plain vanilla (though I'll write flavor), and smallish.  Setup to be determined later.

Frisk - You have a PM.
