Weekly Design Contest 183: I'll Have The Vanilla Please

There have been a number of contests recently focusing on the features introduced by the latest sets. As a contrast to this I have decided to take inspiration from the very early days of Dominion, namely the basic vanilla options (base set) and choices (Intrigue).

This weeks competition is to design a card or horizontal that offers a choice of the basic vanilla options.

Rules
- The 4 basic vanilla options are +Cards, +Actions, +Buy and .
- The choice can only comprise of these options. Whether your choice offers all four, or any combination of two or three, is up to you.
- How many items you can choose is entirely up to you. Similarly, if you allow more than one choice, it is up to to you to decide if the choices must be different or not.
- The choice does not have to be when the card is played. Entries where the choice is given as a reaction, on gain or on trash effect, etc will also be acceptable.
- Just because I have taken inspiration from the early sets, doesn't mean features from later sets are not allowed. Any official card type, mechanic or horizontal type will be acceptable providing it meets the above criteria.

A Smithy from the Ironfamily. It is not as elegant as -works or -monger as the vanillas are, for obvious reasons (discarding a Treasure for a Coin is pointless unless you overdraw), not symmetrical.

It's also strictly better than Market. You can straight up get +1 Card, +1 Action, +2 Buys, and +, which is Market with an extra +Buy. (And similarly, the effects yielded by the first three options are Lab with a +Buy.)

Forget being strictly better than existing cards for the same price because of being able to choose between various effects, it lets you choose between various strictly-better-than- effects.

Can do a lot for you, but needs a bit of excess cards to get going. Lots of good options here, but unless you're fine going -3 in handsize, you'll probably pass on at least one of them.

Early on, you cash in on the first choice. Later, your draw has more value since you've cleaned some junk and bought better stuff, so that's probably when you switch to the second option.
Different traps for different beasts. Also once your prey starts going extinct you have to look further to find it.

Clarifications following entries and questions
- There has been an entry with a Hamlet style choice, where the player could optionally discard a card for a choice of two vanilla bonuses or discard two cards for both bonuses. This is not eligible as there is also the option of not discarding and receiving no additional bonuses. This isn't one of the four vanilla choices.

I find this rule kind of technical and limiting. If I understand it correctly, two additional entries so far wouldn't qualify:

Cabin - if you discard a Curse, you get no additional bonuses
Abandoned Fort - if you have no Actions in play, you get no additional bonuses

Do these qualify or not?

Chivalrous • Trait
When you gain a Chivalrous card, gain a Young Knight. After you play a Chivalrous card, play any number of Young Knights from your hand.

My submission is Young Knight, a non-Supply card that lets the player get +2 of any vanilla bonus, and Chivalrous, a Trait that interacts with YK. YK is a fairly weak card on its own. Although it offers all 4 vanilla bonuses, you only get +2 per card, giving effects like Moat and Necropolis when just played from your hand. However, designs using it also provide the opportunity for a player to play a chain of them, making them must stronger. There are 20 YKs in their pile.

Here, the Trait Chivalrous both allows you to gain YK (when you gain the card from the pile) and to play them (when you play it).

A Peddler that lets you turn a card costing $5 or more into a Market (through discarding it). Originally was going to require the discarded card to cost $6 or more. May warrant a cost of $6 as is.
