Interesting. gkrieg seems to know for a fact that there's a traitor and scum didn't choose the option to recruit. scumslip!
I don't understand these arguments being made about knowing the traitor exists in this setup. I have seen multiple posts arguing that knowing of the existence of a traitor or not is somehow indicative of alignment.
In the game setup post, it says there is a traitor. That means every player should know this. I assume, based on the all town gets VT PMs rule, that one player received a traitor PM in "pre-game."
AFTER a traitor was assigned, but before anything else happens, the mafia have the option to recruit said traitor, who exists. The "power" name says "Recruit Traitor as Mafia Goon" so I assume the QT is replaced or changed to say Goon instead of Traitor. Only the three of them can know this, if it even happened.
In the meantime, the rest of town don't know. It is completely and utterly understandable that any town player would just continue to use "traitor" as the moniker for the third, not-originally-assigned-to-the-mafia-QT player.
To me, the recruited traitor is just that, a recruited traitor, and as such, still "the traitor" in my mind. It's easier than thinking "I wonder if faust is one of the two original mafia players from pre-game or if they were the traitor and/or the recruited traitor." Man, that's a long and ridiculous way to have to type things out just to avoid random slip arguments.
Also, isn't it possible mcmc was recruited traitor who then got the JOAT power? The setup says traitors can get powers if recruited. So then the remaining two mafia WOULD be the original two in their QT. So the traitor argument just seems like a huge waste of time at best and a misdirect at worst absent evidence that it matters.
