I don't even know anymore. I could have made a mistake.
Let's break it down.
For N1Haddock's guess:
Red (10): EFHW, Haddock, gkrieg, schadd, e, Jake, Dylan, Iguana, WW, silver
White (1): Space
Yellow (3): Ash, Awaclus, chairs
Blue (2): DatSwan, Galz
Ref solution:
Red (11): EFHW, Ash, Haddock, Space, chairs, e, DatSwan, Galz, Dylan, Iguana, silver
White (2): Jake, WW
Yellow (3): Awaclus, gkrieg, schadd
Blue (0): NONE
Comparison:
RCRP are EFHW, Haddock, e, Dylan, Iguana, silver (6*red) and Awaclus (1*yellow) = 7.
RCWP are 4 more red, 1 white, 2 yellow = 7
So constraints match for N1.
For N2Haddock's guess:
Red (10): Ash, Haddock, Awaclus, gkrieg, chairs, e, Jake, Galz, Iguana, silver
White (0): NONE
Yellow (3): EFHW, DatSwan, WW
Blue (1): Dylan
Ref solution, removing schadd and me, because we're dead:
Red (10): EFHW, Ash, Haddock, chairs, e, DatSwan, Galz, Dylan, Iguana, silver
White (2): Jake, WW
Yellow (2): Awaclus, gkrieg
Blue (0): NONE
Comparison:
RCRP are Ash, Haddock, chairs, e, Galz, Iguana, silver (7*red) and no other colours = 7.
RCWP are 3 more red and 2 yellows = 5.
So constraints match for N2.
For N3Haddock's guess:
Red (9): EFHW, Haddock, Awaclus, gkrieg, chairs, e, DatSwan, Dylan, silver
White (0): NONE
Yellow (1): Galz
Blue (3): Jake, Iguana, WW
Ref solution, removing schadd, me and Ash:
Red (9): EFHW, Haddock, chairs, e, DatSwan, Galz, Dylan, Iguana, silver
White (2): Jake, WW
Yellow (2): Awaclus, gkrieg
Blue (0): NONE
Comparison:
RCRP are EFHW, Haddock, chairs, e, DatSwan, Dylan and silver (7*red) and no other colours = 7.
RCWP are two more reds and one yellow = 3.
So constraints match for N3.
Does this lead you to agree that Haddock's solution satisfies the constraints we're working with?
But why not enter ash and yourself as confirmed town as well, and gkrieg, schadd and awaclus as confirmed scum?
That's essentially what I did, in that my original posted solution only looked at cases where I'm red, since we know that red is the town colour.
The complication for scum was that I didn't want to have to enter which non-red colour the mafia team was, so I allowed them to be any of the three non-red colours and then only picked out solutions that have the three flipped scums being on the same faction. There are more solutions if we think that two people who both flipped red could come from different scum factions that colour up differently in Haddock's puzzle.
