Troll Bridge
Action: $5
+1 buy
---
While this is in play, when you gain a card, +$2

It's a Princess, except you don't get the bonus for the first card you buy. Has a few other interactions. Is it still overpowered?

Overpowered when combined with a village and a gainer.  Worker's Village/Worker's Village/Haggler/Haggler/Troll Bridge/Silver in play?  I buy a Gold, gaining a Troll Bridge and a WV, and getting $6.  Then I buy a Gold....

Though that's of course an extreme case.  Perhaps "when you buy a card" would be better.

Oh wow that haggler interaction is nuts, although you are still limited by your +buys. I like the crazy interactions with "when gain" but it seems too easy to make large sums of money, even with only $1 per gain.

Back to the drawing board.

Hinterlands seem to really like this. (And for a good reason -- its theme is when-gain, after all)

I mean, Troll Bridge + IGG + IGG =  Province
Troll Bridge + $6 = Province, If you can buy a Border Village to get a Cache.

But this looks so interesting!

i like the "when you gain a card" thing, there seem to be possibilities there.  A card where you drew a card on a gain might have potential.

Oops. Actually with any $6 at you hands, you can always just buy a copper and a province.
But its real power seem to be when it's cast multiple times (not unlike Bridge!!).

Note: KC-KC-Troll Bridge-Troll Bridge-Troll Bridge is less powerful than KC-KC-Bridge-Bridge-Bridge, because the "when this is in play" clause doesn'[t work with KC at all. But you can still buy 3 coppers, 6 provinces and 1 duchy in that turn. Not too shabby either.
