While I found Smeagol keeping a "short list" and putting people on it publicly scummy, the fear of "5 to lynch" and the vote count difficult to count up made me hesitate, and that got me to thinking. The hydra mechanic creates a interesting predicament, while there are 9 "players" there are actually 18 people playing. This means that in order to lynch, all that needs to happen is for a subset of 5 out of 18 to agree (not 2 from the same head in this scenario, obviously).
So wagons may have a tendency to grow really really fast in this game. Normally most of us find it very natural to plunk votes down on whoever is looking the scummiest at the moment, but it is maybe a good idea to talk things over with your other head to see if they confirm your read or not. Other than in the head QTs, we could do this by using FoS as an indication that one of the pair wants to vote for a person, and the other could then follow up with an actual vote if they agree.
At the very least, we should strive to make votes more thoughtful, and promote an atmosphere where discussion is our main tool, and we use votes at the end. At least instead of doing the f.DS standard of ignoring any case that is made without an accompanying vote.
