In my experience it's not worth trying to stop someone from getting a third colony. Fifth, absolutely, and maybe be worried about someone getting a fourth, but third isn't worth it.

Merchant reveals a Negotiate.

The offense wins!

Offensive ships land on Merchant C.
The defensive ships go to the warp.
Merchant discards his cardship, it was an Attack 06.
Merchant collects four cards in compensation.

Merchant: what backed cards do target for compensation? (Warpish as 2 rewards backed and 5 cosmic backed cards)

It was my hope we could have negotiated, but I get the feeling Warpish didn't have a Negotiate in his hand anyway. My apologies to those allies who stood by me. It takes courage to withstand the brunt of Warpish's assault.
