these kind of clues are forbidden. the clue needs to pertain strictly to the meaning of the word, not
how it looks or sounds like (or where it’s placed on the grid or how many letters it has or whatever)

Well, Pirate (1).

The Cannonball Run is a “race” across America done in a car to see how quickly it can be done (super illegal, but super popular every time one iOS done). Swan and I talked some about it 4-5 months ago when the new record was just set. If he’s relying on either of us knowing this reference, that’s a potential for Car (2), and America (3).

That would leave just one more if those were correct. Revolution? Match? Other thoughts?
