many of us have had the experience of working hard at a problem for a long time, and finally solving it.

in the last few weeks, we spent a lot of time working at this problem. a lot of our machinery slowly wore away, pretty much all of us developed some sort of repetitive stress injury, and also we voluntarily killed a lot of innocent particles. but today, we finally trampled over a massive roadblock in our travels: the boring political stuff.

it's a really lame and uninteresting problem, and totally out of a lot of our areas of expertise. but with our social skills combined, we were able to resolve one of the most corrupt and frustrating issues faced by physics.
