Fake hammers are scummy

Vote: gkrieg

I don't see how it was scummy. We got some good posts from people who thought it was twilight. I was hoping for something more telling from Joseph while he thought he had been lynched. All in all, the fakehammer was beneficial for town and I wish we had gone longer before someone pointed out it was fake.

Man. I had four strips of bacon yesterday. Was one automatically undercooked, one automatically overcooked? No, let's put a stop to that right here, all four strips were excellent.

Why are fakehammers scummy? Every time I've fakehammered or seen someone else do it it was a town-play.

It's not necessarily a good idea, granted, but I don't think gkrieg is scum because of it.

That said I've done it so often that they lose a bit in effectiveness. I'm not sure I buy that Joseph hasn't realized it. He should know better, at this point.

Could someone explain how fakehammers are scummy? I feel like town has everything to gain from the interactions in a fake twilight, without any of the downsides of an early lynch. That and I've been getting town vibes from gkrieg, so I'm pretty sure he's on the same train of thought as I am.

Ppe adk is asking the same thing.

Was that the hammer? If so, it was so bad.

I mean how the hell did we get a lynch in 27 hours?

Frustrated because the lynch was so early, not because it was on town.

Could someone explain how fakehammers are scummy?

No. Because they aren't. You're completely on point.

You generally seem to be pretty on point in most things for a new player. Have you played mafia somewhere else before?

I hadn't, but I kinda lost track on who had actually voted for me.

Ironic, since I was the one who fakehammered when we needed 1 more person to start the game....

Very ironic. Now, are you actually claiming to be town now? If so, explain the whole stunt, please. Why pull it off again when it hasn't done anything the first time? What are you hoping to achieve?

No, but I've binge-read a bunch of games on f.ds. Now that I'm out of college, I have time to actually play. Man, it's hard getting reads. The best I can do now is try and get people to post more of substance so I have an easier time with reads. Joseph hasn't been doing that, and I'm tempted to think he's scum based on that.

So his pseudo-Twilight posts didn't give you town vibes?

Not really, no. His first post post-fakehammer he hadn't realized it yet, and the second one was bemoaning the quicklynch. I just want him to explain his playstyle and how it's supposed to be helping town. I mean it's giving us stuff to talk about, but if it's getting him lynched then I can't see it being good.

Yeah, not the best hammer ever (assuming you're town, Joseph), but at least he kinda announced it.

Well while twilight is going I'll take the opportunity to comment on this
he means that voting haddock is crazy but it is also the best thing to do, and that this is the case in every game with Haddock.
, which I just saw.  OK I understand the content of ii's claim then I guess.  Not sure I get why he thinks this, but sure.

nononono, I meant usually you are scummy and a good person to wagon up. This game you are towny and we shouldn't lynch you.

I haven't been doing it recently. Actually, I haven't been in a game for a while I believe (M77 was last one?)
I did do this thing quite a lot a while back. Apparently it still isn't a good idea.

Okay, I had a big post that got lost due to the downtime. Basically I did a reread and I feel like Joseph's wagon has served its purpose. Still not convinced he's town, but I'm feeling better and I don't need to be voting for him anymore.
I'm kind of conflicted between ii and e. On one hand ii's case on e seems weak and forced. On the other hand, I don't like that e announced that the hammer was fake so early. I'm going to go back to vote: ii
