Through the Ages: A NEW Story of Civilisation PBF

This is a PBF of the new edition of Through the Ages. Three people are already signed up, this thread will sit here for at least 24 hours (but really mostly until I can be bothered to move on, heh) to give one more person a chance to sign up and join. The game will be run in a similar fashion to old PBFs, although unlike those I plan to just have one universal public document, and PM people their hands of military cards, since that seems easier to manage.

People who haven't played before are welcome to join - the rules can be found over on CGE's website, and samples of cards and stuff can be found on BoardGameGeek. However if you are curious, be forewarned that TtA is a pretty complex game, so you might need a bit of time to learn the rules (but don't worry - because it's a new edition you won't be at a significant disadvantage!)

Hmm, I'm sure in other games I had colourised the card row that gets posted... kinda a shame. Still it's all in colour on the spreadsheet, so yeah.

Also something I have realised is that, in order to keep the game moving at a sensible pace, military discards will need to happen a tad later than they should normally.

I feel the best way to deal with this is to request that after players are sent their military hand, they look no further than the update I post afterwards before deciding what cards to discard. I doubt it'll rarely make much difference, but it could do for things like deciding whether to keep an aggression in case someone builds up, to keep a tactics based on what's in the card row and so on.

Oh, and obviously the reason I'm saying this now is that Xerxes must PM me two military card discards

So is this a change from the previous version? Because in the normal version I thought you discard at the end of your military phase, not at the end of the round.

I think you're getting the rules wrong here. Discarding military cards happens immediately before drawing military cards in the new version, unless I'm mistaken.
This also means you can simply PM your discard along with your turn.
