Set-Up:The flavor for this game is based on Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. Familiarity with Yoshi’s Island is not necessary to play, and will not provide an advantage to any player.(Skip to the next post for a summary of the set-up.)
This set-up is for 13 players. They will have the following Power Roles:
3 Mafia:
Kamek (Mafia 1-shot Roleblocker)
Baby Bowser (Mafia 1-shot Strongman)
Toady (Mafia Goon)
10 Town:
Baby Mario (Innocent Child)
Nep-Enut (Town Roleblocker)
Poochy (Town Doctor)
Huffin’ Puffin (Town Watcher)
6 Yoshi’s (1-shot Doctors)
The flavor names for the 1-shot docs will be chosen randomly from the following 9 names, such that no two townies have the same name:
Green Yoshi
Blue Yoshi
Purple Yoshi
Red Yoshi
Pink Yoshi
Brown Yoshi
Black Yoshi
Yellow Yoshi
Orange YoshiSince there are six 1-shot docs and nine possible flavor names for them, three flavor names will not be assigned to town’s 1-shot docs. Scum will be informed of which three names were not used, so that they can safely fake claim.
Mafia wins when Baby Mario, the Innocent Child, is killed (night killed or lynched).Mafia also wins if nothing can prevent them from reaching their win condition.
Town wins when all mafia-aligned players are dead.
Night actions will be resolved in the following order:
Night start – Set all players’ “protection level” to 0
Town Roleblocker – Cancel all actions taken by the target
Mafia Roleblocker – Cancel all actions taken by the target
Town Doctors – Add 1 to the protection level of the target
Strongman – Subtract 1 from the protection level of the target (if the strongman is also performing the night kill)
Mafia Night Kill – If the target’s protection level is less than or equal to 0, he dies
Town Watcher – Receive list of all players who targeted the watcher’s target
Doctors
can target themselves in this game.
Note: Flavor texts should be treated as independent of in-game events, for the purposes of non-publicly known information. For example, flavor texts may imply that a particular character performed a night kill, or that a particular Yoshi color is present in the game, but flavor texts only imply publicly known information (for example, which player was night killed).
Night action submission deadlines will be 48 hours; all players must check in at night, even if it is just to state that they will not target anyone. The IC does not need to check in at night.
Lynches are mandatory. If a lynch is not reached by the deadline, the player with the most votes will be lynched. If there is a tie, the first player among the tied players to reach the given number of votes will be lynched.
Role PMs:TOWNBaby MarioWelcome, [Player Name], to Yoshi’s Island Mafia! You are Baby Mario the Town-Aligned Innocent Child. You win when Baby Bowser, Kamek, and Toady have been eliminated.
At the beginning of the game, you will be mod-confirmed as Baby Mario, the Innocent Child. If you die, town loses.
(All Yoshis will have the same role PM, except for a different name (text colors will be the same as in the list of flavor names above).)
Green YoshiWelcome, [Player Name], to Yoshi’s Island Mafia! You are Green Yoshi the Town-Aligned 1-shot doctor. You win when Baby Bowser, Kamek, and Toady have been eliminated.
