Yeah Jimm is a little suspicious. I guess we just see Hydrad's post differently though.

Your post that you have a bias on me is the same thing though, where you give an excuse for not sticking with a read.

Also, the post comes off as much more confident on the scum read on Jimmm than on Hydrad, but you're voting for Hydrad.  The Hydrad comments sound hedged.

Hmm interesting I thought I have been stating my votes pretty clearly and not hedging.

Anyways here are my reads right now

Scummy: Scott, arche, teproc

Towny: silver, Andrew

And Asher gets his own as I think he is more towny then scum but still super hard to read
Logged
For anyone else, such a statement would be a scum tell.  For Hydrad, it's simply a tell that you're reading something from Hydrad.

I suppose you can read it that way. I would say I dont feel more confident about one or the other, but I'm more interested in the Hydrad wagon for now, because, well, it's a wagon that reached L-1 extremely early.

Andrew, I didn't use a bias to get "out of" a read against you, I specifically unvoted because your response was satisfying to me. I mentioned the other thing because I was thinking about how I always find myself voting for you early day 1, but it wasn't really my reason for unvoting.

Have I been in a game where you were scum by the way ? I can't think of one.

PPE : Hydrad, WW was talking about my comments about you.

This reminds me of when I had an argument with yuma about his vote on a mislynch led by Robz. He said something like "Robz is definitely town and I like the case" followed by a vote. He argued that his townread on Robz had nothing to do with his vote and I argued the opposite and that it was really scummy and yuma turned out to be scum. Long story short, here is your switch:

Andrew's response was fine, and I think I have a bias against him, so let's switch : vote : Hydrad

And it looks like to me like part of the reason you switched was because of a bias you have. I don't want to make a huge deal over this considering we're still in D1 and there are no flips to look into but it's something to keep in mind that you're not committing to votes or reads based on biases and WIFOM.

my reads would be
scum hydrad, mostly because of the defense
scum ash, because of the incredible amount of nonsense that is coming out of him, which to me seems completely unnecessary; and the way in which he is both arrogant and rude to everyone seems like an attempt to intimidate us. Like, hey I'm the best player here and you should follow my leads. Lynching me is of course completely out of question.

but apparently that is his usual behavior for some reason, so that's probably just me lacking experience

and maybe slight town read on andrew

VOTE COUNT 1.5:

The Temple's wooden doors had all but rotted away. The group filed inside, peering nervously into the gloom.

scott_pilgrim (1): Hydrad
Hydrad (4): mail-mi, scott_pilgrim, Teproc, ashersky
Teproc (1): chairs
ashersky (3): Jimmmmm, EgorK, AndrewisFTTW
Jimmmmm (1): Archetype

Not voting (3): Witherweaver, Robz888, silverspawn

With 13 alive, it takes 7 to lynch.

Day one ends at 10:00 pm, August 8

i think that hydrad's defense was a little over-the-top, a bit too much for this early in D1.

I currently imagine mail-mi wearing a dark trenchcoat and a bowler hat, hunched over a bit, toothpick in his mouth, holding a gun in his pocket.  One bead of sweat trickling down his nose.

Ash, there are people in this game that are very capable of derphammering as town, so don't do that again, please.

Correct.

Name them.

Yeahhh... what exactly was the point of that? We have more than a week to actually discuss things.

Please provide a list of these "things" which we can "discuss."

Well first of all, we haven't really heard from scott, Egor, or Robz at all, and barely anything from mail-mi, Arch, and chairs if I'm not mistaken. Is there a problem with wanting to hear from everybody in order to form reads? Is there a problem with discussing things?

No problem.  But you are unable to come up with these "things" you seem to think are so important.

Nowhere did I say there are specific "things" we need to discuss. Simply that we have plenty of time for discussion and we should take advantage of that.

Ummm...in the original post I quoted, you specifically said "things."  Come on man.

You remind me of a guy I know IRL that makes a big deal out of every small and inconsequential piece of minutia. But when it comes to solving the big issues he just doesn't understand what to do and instead shifts blame on wvwryone else for his problems.

I take this as a personal attack.  You need to stop this shit.  Talk about the game and the actions/posts within it, not negatively about the players themselves.

I didn't mean to make it personal, all I'm saying is you're sitting here debating whether or not I have specific "things" in mind in which we would discuss later instead of actually presenting a decent case on the person you put at L-1. I understand you didn't expect anyone to hammer. Fine. Well then how about presenting a case on Silverspawn who you went after for unvoting after he understood the slight possibility of a derphammer? Or maybe a real case on Jimm other than "he types one word responses"? I could say the exact same thing about you except the difference is you've copped an attitude out of nowhere and you're raging against everyone for no apparent reason whatsoever. Sure, call it ash bias if you want but maybe we just find you annoying right now for talking loud but saying nothing.

And the personal attacks continue.  You realize that when you start a post with "I didn't mean to make it personal" you are making it personal?

I suppose you can read it that way. I would say I dont feel more confident about one or the other, but I'm more interested in the Hydrad wagon for now, because,
well, it's a wagon that reached L-1 extremely early.

It only reached L-1 early because I put it there, and it is meaningless than it reached L-1 early.  What's meaningful is the reactions of people to me putting him at L-1, his own reaction at being put to L-1, and the ripple effects from there.

Hey guys, chill out all. It's a disagreement over in-game matters, that's all. If you're upset, remember that it's your responsibility to go away and come back assuming the other person isn't being jerk, this goes both ways.

When I said "I didn't mean to make it personal" I meant I didn't mean to attack your personality but rather your play in this game. When I compared you to my friend IRL I was simply saying I feel like the way he acts IRL is comparable to what I see you doing in this game, which is magnifying little things people say instead of addressing the bigger issues. I know it came across wrong and I'm sorry about that.

I bolded the part of silverspawn's post where I feel he's pointing out why you're acting this way. I'm not saying I agree with it, I just wanted to point out that he's tying it into a game situation and not attacking you as a person.

This is distracting, can we get back to the game please ?

ash : I didn't name anyone because ongoing games, but other than that I would say that wehave a newbie (silverspawn) and you never know what a newbie will do in that respect.

vote : Jimmmmm. Has been scummy (see previous posts), then disappeared when things started to get heated.
