I chose Feodum, even though it is the worst on the list.

I picked Fairgrounds, it's fun when you can create an engine out of every available card.

I picked Gardens, because it's so versatile. Fairgrounds is a close second.

Fairgrounds, because it is kind of underrated.

I chose Vineyard, because I like being able to just keep adding actions to my deck and scoring more points for doing so.  Also puts potions to good use and creates interesting tension--balancing need to add more actions yet "waste" buys on potions and 0P vineyards that then can stall an engine.

Silk Road. Vineyards was a close second. I'm a huge fan of VP dense Kingdoms. Silk Road scales hugely when you can leverage Tunnel, Harem, Nobles, Dame Josephine, Estates and even Overgrown Estate. The scaling power of Gardens and Vineyards is well recognized while Silk Road not so much. Combined with Gardens and/or Vineyards or Nobles or Harem it scales exponentially.

Vineyard is my absolute favorite card in dominion, so it was an easy choice for me!

Vineyard, Fairgrounds and Dukes are the main alt vp that are best with engines, which is what makes them the most fun. Personally I like Vineyards the best, but they all have their fun moments.

I would think that Merchant Guild and Merchant Ship would be exceptionally good for scaling alt-VP strategies.  Bureaucrat would also do well I think.

I love Feodum. I think that it can be pretty powerful with Masterpiece, Trader, and Goons on the same board.
(With Goons you can get up to $7 and with the extra buy pick up Feodum and Silver in a single turn and get at least two VP for it, all while forcing your opponent to stall)

Trader and Masterpiece are amazing for Feodum yes, but they are just BM games. Goons? If there is Goons, changes are there is also some kind of Engine to  use it in.

Feodum, because it's much better at being hilarious. I mean, playing a deck with twenty silvers is okay I guess, but gaining a dozen silvers in a turn is just fun.  Most of the other alt-VP's are interesting to strategize for but the turn-by-turn is kinda tedious. I appreciate the change of pace, but I just don't get really excited the same way I do for a Feodum game.

I don't get how to play with Duke. I just can't get my head around when to start greening.

No Great Hall?

It's an estate that replaces itself. Clearly OP.

Probably Colony, though it's not on the list. Usually trumps any other alt-vp except possibly Goons and rewards long-term strategy and engine building.

No Great Hall?

More to the point, no island or tunnel? they're both stronger than great hall, tunnel is awesome!

I agree, Colony is nice and game-changing too.

i like duke the best, but probably because it's the one im best with =)

it's better than going for provinces on so many boards, and in many games by the time your opponent realizes you're going for duke he either has to 1. start going for them himself, but is already down at least 1 duchy and has a deck that is less prepared to go for duke/duchy than yours or 2. change his deck to be able to get all 8 provinces

i like the card so much that i made it my avatar =) duke is my favorite card in dominion

I chose Feodum, even though it is the worst on the list.

I don't know how powerful Feodum is relative to the other cards, but I also voted it since I find it the most fun. I love that there are so many ways to build it up, and the fact that it has a built in way to explode your Silver count makes it hilarious fun. The best is of course blowing it up with Trader to get 7 Silvers and then buying another Silver or Feodum (or a Masterpiece worth another 2 or 3 Silvers), but there is also a bunch of other fun things you can do.

No Great Hall?

I would even include the VP-token cards, or at least Goons and Bishop. They provide alternate paths to victory, which is the entire point of alt-VP cards. Colony is a little more straightforward since it is still just Province+, but even that mixes up how you play the game.

The OP specified scaling VP cards. No matter how many Island, Great Hall, Harem, Tunnel, Estate, Duchy, Province, or Colony Cards you pick up they are all worth exactly 4, 3, 2, 2, 1, 3, 6, 10 VP apiece respectively.

Goons scales in a way; if you can play multiples of them, their potential value increases logarithmicly (2 possible points from 1 goons, 8 from 2 goons, 18 from 3 goons, etc). But that only works in an engine where you can buy cheap cantrips or trash the gained Coppers with Watchtower, so it's not really like other Alt VP strategies.

Bishop and Monument can also scale if Throne Roomed. And of course there's the Golden (or Platinum) Deck, which sort of scales because you can play it every turn.

But these are engine strategies, which don't skew the way you play the game in the way that adding lots of VP cards to your deck does.

Goons would be horrible if it was logarithmic...
