Dominion General Discussion / Re: Interview with Donald X.

Any news on the sun, that big ball of hydrogen and some other stuff that illuminates earth?

I’ve been informed that it’s rising in the morning.

Ah, and it's foreshadowing. Calling it now--next expansion is either "Setting Sun" or "Rising Moon." Twilight phase will be the new mechanic--after Buy phase and before Night phase.
Well, first comes Dominion: High Noon. With cowboys.

The "real world" in Barbie was definitely eye-roll worthy. All the people were bending over backwards to advance the narrative forward as fast as possible, and that felt awkward and forced. Ken's transformation especially felt like the real-world section of the movie was originally planned to be much longer and got chopped up to reduce runtime.

if you did similar things the other way around, it would be completely unacceptable.
While that statement is true, I don't think it's all that relevant. Context matters and the context of Barbie is a world biased against women in many ways. So while the movie is sexist, I think(?) it's doing it in a way that mostly discusses things from a cultural perspective(i.e. sans bioessentialism) and is generally constructive.

I do love how you have several paragraphs of discussion on Barbie and just one sentence about Oppenheimer.

Just a thought here, feel free to disregard: I once playtested a card similar to this, and it just gained way too many Horses. It really slowed the game down, much like Donald said the Smithy and Cellar for Horses did. It might be worth it to change some of the Horses on this card to +Cards.

It should have an "or reveals their hand" honesty check clause if they cannot discard a Collateral. Unfortunately, that adds a lot of words.
Ahh, does "if possible" not do enough here? With "or reveals a hand with no Collateral" in the FAQ?

Usurer has been added. I'm running out of art of medieval guys moving money around. And of course there aren't any pictures of medieval women bankers, that would just be silly. Figures.

It's a little wordy and complex for my taste, but I'm pretty happy with it.
The part of the card not involving Collateral tried out a few different bonuses, but I couldn't come up with one that really worked until now. The card really wanted to be a $5 and none of the vanillas really fit.
It'd be fun to see Settlers or Gardens or something as the Collateral; lots of variety there.

Buying cards from the Lucky pile is probably turbo swingy when Prizes come up. Or even wish or madman.

Dang thats a good deal! Plunder at that price is especially good if you want to print custom cards, you can get 40 kingdom cards, plus extra cards and landscapes, plus a box to keep em in. You can print on these labels to turn the Plunder cards into customs.

Hmm, alright. I think Treasure Trove is a trap here and I wouldn't play Scavenger but everything else has some value to it. On a 5/2 I'd open Margrave and Peasant. Margrave is just a strong attack that provides good draw and +buy on top of it. Peasant gets you going on your road to Teacher, which could be really good if you end up putting your tokens on Walled Village or Scheme. My next pickup for this line would be Walled Village because of too many terminals. On 3/4 I'd open Gear and Tournament. Gear is there to try and spike lots of money to pick up an early King's Court or Province. That Province will come in handy when you start playing that Tournament, and the Peddler effect in the beginning is just good. My next pickup for this line would probably be Peasant to get that Teacher sooner, and the +buy comes in handy. After that, grabbing Miser for thinning and Schemes to play it more often is probably the way to go. King's Court-Miser is strong. Buy Walled Villages as needed, grab King's Court ASAP. I'd only want one Margrave,  probably, and just use Gear for the rest of my draw power.

Does adding additional landscapes fit the contest?

Also, congrats on the engagement!

I'm sorry to go out of topic Snorka, but, is the suit on the man in your signature getting... larger?
Yes. Watch out.  :o

Sculptor gaining Gondola is a nice village on a board with no others. Won me a game.

I think your methodology on this question is just full of holes. From sample size to lurking variables to using GPT-4 as a source? If I were you I wouldn't even make a tentative conclusion.

it's just kind of like a non-event
Well of course, it's a Trait not an Event after all.

Added Steelworks, Banker, and Seagull to the OP. Two contest submissions and Banker, which was just another card I thought of. Maybe Banker should work on Treasures? I'm not sure if that would be too strong or if banker is way too weak already.

Reaper • $5 • Treasure
Choose one: trash a Treasure for +1 Buy and +$1; or discard a Victory for +1 Buy.
Choose one: gain a Silver; or trash a Silver from your Hand to gain a Gold to your Deck's top.
Do you trash the Treasure from your hand or somewhere else? Also, "hand" and "deck" don't need to be capitalized.
edit: grammar

Is the fact that is reduces costs during opponents' turns intentional? I assume so from "player interaction" being in the list of things you said you're a big fan of.

Yes, precisely.

I'm a fan of many things about Dominion, so this does several of them. I'm a big fan of gainers, tokens, durations, cost reduction, cares-about-types, and player interaction. This is easily the most "me" card I've ever made. (might be a little too strong or too complex.)

So if I understand Disguise Artist correctly, you can move your mimic token twice with two of them, and cause cost reduction on two piles?
Yes. Hopefully the tracking on that isn't so bad.

Cardslayer, Action - Attack, $5
Each other player removes a sleeve from a card in their hand.

I once had someone deny my undo after I had drawn a card. Only issue was I already knew what the card was because of sentry. Not a big deal, though.

I decided to have a place to store all my contest submissions and other fan cards that aren't part of larger projects.
Cards:

This one's a split pile, with 5 HotMK on top and 5 MT underneath.

In games with a Dream, each player plays that Dream at the end of their Night phase.

The Tiny Isle mat can only hold 5 cards at a time. If it ever has more than that, put the excess cards(of your choice) into your hand.

Landscapes:

Charters are like Event-Durations. After you buy them, put one of your cubes there until it stops doing stuff.
