Re-read on J Reggie. I'm pulling out assorted bits that seem relevant to forming an opinion of him. Please point out anything I should have noted but didn't!
A bunch of stuff about being a "towny townie".. not really sure what to make of it.
So this is my chance to be a towny townie for once. I'll try not to do anything dumb, guys.
And WW is voting me for trying to be towny as town for once, which is too bad. I'd think it'd be pro town to act like your alignment.
Early on seems to be actually posting to get talking going in the game, which seems quite townie. (#123-#131-ish).
Weird exchange with faust about a Joseph wagon ~#160. Didn't quite get why that needed an argument there. Other people didn't seem to like it, though, since he picks up votes from Silver and WW.
#186: admits to maybe being off-topic, but not scummy. I think this comes under the umbrella of allowable fluff to keep game posts happening. There's a bit more around #194 because other people persist in asking things about hamsters and stuff.
#277: still trying to make the game pick up before the D1 deadline, which I think is townie.
When everyone looks like town, probably Faust is scum.
This is actually an interesting point. If you're having trouble getting scumreads, there's a good chance scum is among the more experienced players.
Hmm.. this could be a deflection, if he's scum and knows that the other scums are at the less experienced end of the spectrum. After all, it's pretty hard for anyone to know anything for sure in D1. But I don't actually have enough different D1 experiences to know for sure what to expect the distribution to look like.
#447: points out how to search for his posts since he doesn't have unique profile text. That's at least helpful, if not definitely townie.
Maybe I should just do something dumb; when I don't people think I'm not contributing enough.
I could take this at face value, really. I guess it could look scummy to people who're feeling less charitable?
#501 is JR's rebuttal of Iguana's case against him. I think it reads quite convincingly as a town player, though shortly afterwards his claim about having started the Mail-mi wagon is debunked. Given that was a mislynch anyway, I don't think he'd be clamouring for credit so much now anyway.
#535: concedes Iguana's point about similarities between his behaviour here and in Duel mafia (where he was scum). I feel like acknowledging it is good.
#574: big case on Mail-mi.
#582-#587: Scramble not to get killed; offers read-list that seems low-entropy given the rest of his interactions, so that's good.
Some rules-clarification stuff that seems entirely reasonable.
#721: refuses the faust-sheeping pledge. I kinda like this, since I wasn't sure I wanted to sign my brain away 100% either.
#809/#813: Votes for me for being "null and non-present". We must be able to do better than that for scum possibilities!
I don't like him being pretty silent D2 compared to D1 also.
I'm aware of that. I've been pretty busy, but I'll try to get back into this game.
Yeah, his posting rate here has dropped right down, but being busy in itself isn't a reason for us to be suspicious of people.
So overall I still feel like there must be better scum options to find out there.
