I won a game with Diadem

I'm one of those people that almost never takes Diadem.  But it got me the win here: http://dom.retrobox.eu/?/20131127/log.505e9c9c0cf2ef979299a7c0.1385608766347.txt

I thought this was a pretty interesting board, I'm not sure how well I played it.  But I made some good Inn buys and that makes me happy, and winning when your opponent gets Followers T9 is always a treat.

(Also: thanks for the game, Polk)

Diadem is most useful in a pinch when you need that extra cash at that moment.  I know numerous games where it has provided the proper amount of cash to take the last Province for the win.  That's honestly it's best use in my opinion.

Hello.  Name's Bruce.  It's all right.  I understand.  Why trust a shark, right?

Is quite curious - Who is the mystical "Celestial Chameleon"?

Diadem is fine. It is often stronger than the bag of gold even if it just gets used as a free silver.

I'm not saying Diadem is bad, it's just that I tend to ignore it, and didn't here, which is really unusual for me.

I usually choose Diadem over Bag of Gold. Sometimes, I even take it over Princess. I think it is an underrated prize.

I think when I pick Diadem I end up using it only once close to 100% of the time.
And most of the time as an instant Silver to get a Province.

Until now I hadn't thought of the fact that with Black Market you can play Village Village Village...[etc] Black Market Diadem (for lots of money), and then still get to use of those actions. Has anyone done that?

You're welcome.  :) This was definitely one of the more fun Tournament games I've played recently.
