Speaking as a newbie, it seems to me that mail-mi would want to reroll that 5? If he's not going to spend those coins anyway, then that's a wasted die, and he should hope for a better result. Even a 6 is better, since there is no penalty for having one skull.

Is that reasonable to say?
I thought I could buy something with the coins. Can i reroll that?

That was already the third roll, so it can't be rerolled.

I'll edit the first post to make it clear, but "yahtzee-style" also includes the limit to # of rolls.  So total of 2 rerolls.  (I didn't specify that the listing was exhaustive, but it is: roll, set aside, reroll, set aside, reroll-you're done at this point.)

So, mail-mi can't reroll the 5 because he's out of rolls.

Ah, okay. I didn't realize that there were only two rerolls. That does make Leadership less confusing to me now.

Okay, roll those bones!

Rolled 3d6 : 1, 3, 4, total 8

Also note for leadership: You may reroll a skull with the leadership roll.

3 Food
3 Workers
2 Food or 2 Workers

I'm good with that roll.

I'll go for 2 Workers.

+3 Food
+5 Workers

Put 3 Workers on City 4
Put 2 Workers on City 5

I remembered another thing that's not obvious.  Indicated in first post, copied here.

There is a hard cap of 15 food.  If you would collect food such that you go over 15 the excess is not collected.  Same with Goods, if you would collect a stone, but it would take you past the "56" slot, then you lose that good.

...spin-offs are still better for all of the previously cited reasons.
But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

I'll suck it up and keep that.

Using my starting 3 food to feed my cities.

9 workers, I'll use 7 to build the next 2 cities and put 2 in the Great Wall monument (I don't have to build the monuments in order, do I?)
