Okay, Coppersmiths usually don't run out, though.
Right. Though come to think of it, I'm not sure if I've seen possessions run out.

I can't imagine that Contraband (also Cache) was ever emptied. Did anybody had such a game?

I've emptied Cache! I think. In a Gardens game that I lost. I think.

Contraband I grant is illogical. But Cache I've seen happen more than once in slogg-y games. Also, multiplayer helps piles run a LOT.

However, things like silver and most of all potion - yes, potion - are the whadjumahuhs.

Goko bots will empty Contraband. Just keep denying them Golds and they'll keep buying the "next best thing".

I've seen Silver empty way more times than anything in the Coppersmith power range.  Trader anyone?

Trader/Feodum, also.

I'm not sure games in adventure mode "count" because the bots behave pretty strangely but I saw silver run out in a sloggy 4-player with squire. I may have been behaving strangely that game as well though.

I am pretty sure I've seen EVERY (pre-DA) card run out before, including coppersmith. (Swindlers, and then 3-pile).

Also, this makes me really wish BoM could be counting house.

Sure, but if running them out is what ends the game, then that doesn't really affect BoM...

Inpost
$5 Action - Duration
After your buy phase, if it is your first buy phase this turn, discard your hand and all non-duration cards in play and draw three cards, then take an extra buy phase, then take an extra action phase.

I think that would cost $4, actually.  Taking the buy phase before the action phase is a real downside.  Also, it needn't be a duration because it only takes effect this turn.

I found another good use for Band of Misfits today: Baron.  If you have an Estate, Band of Misfits is $4.  If you don't have an Estate, Band of Misfits can be used for another purpose (in our game, Monument for $2 and 1 VP).  This eliminated the main problem with Baron: if you don't draw it with an Estate, it's useless until very late in the game.

It's duration so that it won't discard itself.

Same thing for Throne Room and Smugglers, which often times you don't want in your deck even though they could be really helpful in some situations.

Earlier today I played a game with Courtyard, Throne Room, BoM and no other cards of interest. I opened Courtyard/BoM and got one more Courtyard and BoM later in the game. I played the BoM as a Courtyard when I got it as my only action, and used it as a TR when they collided.

Perhaps they commit a misdemeanor and have a run in with the law?

I played a game today where I bought some BoMs to function as Hamlets and Conspirators with Quarry on the board. At first they were great, because I could choose whichever of those two I needed at the time. But, then the Conspirators ran out, leaving me to use them as Hamlets sometimes and Trade Route at others, which I generally didn't want to do. It showed me that you have to be careful buying BoM primarily to emulate a pile that has a good chance of running out.

I see your Inpost and I raise you
Anti Market
$6 treasure
+$1
+1 Action
You may continue playing actions as if it were your action phase

It can go in the fan expansion 1 million and one ways to mess with the buy/action phase and don't even think about playing this expansion with new players
