Wasn't there a rumour for a card called "Stonecutter" being in Guilds?

My favorite is Sawmill.

I'm concerned workshop's big brother is too strong when a Village/Smithy situation is available.

I think that falls more into the category of 'good combo' than 'broken interaction'.

Well, my concern is that it is so strong that Village/Rabble is still overboard for it.  I could be totally wrong about it, which is why I said "concerned" and not something conveying more certainty.
Just would need testing, prove me right or wrong.
The woodcutter, I feel really certain that it's perfect as printed.

I think requiring the two cards to be different would be a mild nerf and keep piles from running out too quickly. It'd still be awesome with Village/Smithy or Village/Envoy, but less incredible with Village/Rabble, etc.

I once wanted to make a more powerful workshop, and here's what i got:

Factory
6$, Action
All cards (including cards on players hands) cost 1$ less this turn, but not less than 0$. Gain two cards that together cost up to 4$, putting one of them on top of your deck.

It turned out good for 6$ as far as my playtesting went. I'd like to compare your Big Workshop to it. With Factory, you can gain a 5$ and a 1$, or a 4$ and a 2$, or two 3$s. Your Big Workshop always can gain two 4$s, whith a little less flexibility and no top-decking, also lacking the cost-reduction, but better avarage cost for 1$ less. I guess it's okay priced. You can always get some Silvers with it.

Edit: Forcing you to get two different cards would probably be a really strong nerf, as you don't always find two cards for 4$ or less you want in your deck. Of course, there's Silver + X, but even Silver is unwanted sometimes...

My concern too. CY is already better than Smithy lots of the time.

I think it's balanced. Also +1 for the name. Talking about consumer society.

Ghost Boat - Action/Attack $4
+2 Cards
Each other player with 5 or more cards in hand puts cards from his hand on top of his deck until he has 4 cards in his hand.

Wealth - Treasure $3
Worth $1
---
While this is in play, whenever you buy an Action card, gain a Silver.

Planner - Action/Duration $4
Discard your hand.
If you discarded any cards this way, then at the start of your next turn +3 Cards, +1 Buy

The problem I see here is that by the time you can get it at $6, it's a bit late for trashing to be as huge a bonus... and in the late game it's nothing but a cantrip.

I'd imagine much weaker that WV.  Engines will run out of things to trash quickly before they run out of things to discard, and since it's 6 it can't even be used super early.

Scout Troop - $5
Type = combined Victory/Action/Treasure, worth 0 VP and $0.
+ $2
Look through your deck and reveal any number of Victory cards from it. All cards cost $2 more this turn for every 4 Victory cards revealed (rounded down). Discard all of the revealed Victory cards and shuffle your deck. +1 Action for every Action card and +$2 for every Treasure card discarded this way.

Army
$7 Action - Attack
+$3
Each other player discards down to 2 cards in hand.

It's the Remodel -> Expand or Throne Room -> King's Court improvement for Militia: all the 2s become 3s and the cost goes up from $4 to $7.

EDIT: It works for Island, too:

Bigger Island
$7 Action - Victory
Worth 3 VP
__
Set aside this and two other cards from your hand. Return them in your deck at the end of the game.

Remake and Moneylender are kind of pointless, but Golem could be fun:

Big Golem
$7P Action
Reveal cards from your deck until you reveal 3 action cards other than Big Golem cards. Discard the other cards, then play the action cards in any order.

Especially in combination with the original Golem.

(why the first reply to this thread had to be a scout joke and, even more mysterious, WHY did it get so much respect ?)

Pope ($7, action)
+$2
+1 VP token
You may trash a card from your hand. If you do, +1 VP token for each $ in its cost.

Subterran ($5, victory reaction)
Worth 2 VP
-----
When you discard a victory card other than during your clean-up phase, you may reveal this from your hand and the victory card. If you do, gain a Gold. You may reveal only one Subterran per discarded victory card this way.
(I first thought Subterran as a really bad card idea ^^ decks with Golem as only actions, here I am !)

Chocolate is like victory points in Dominion. Both taste good but they'll hurt you if you eat too much of it instead of something else in your early days.
