Market Square triggered by Pillage

Hi there,

I was playing a board with Market Square and Pillage, and when Pillage was played by my opponents, I was asked if I wanted to discard Market Square. Conversely, when I played Pillage sometimes I could only "attack" one out of two opponents because one of them "played a reaction card".

This is not supposed to happen, as Market Square should only be able to react when a card is trashed, not discarded.

I wonder if this has already been noticed as a serious flaw or if I'm wrong altogether.

Moat is the only reaction that can block attacks. Market Square says "When one of your cards is trashed... so the player to play the Pillage, should be the only one to reveal it. It should react when the Pillage is trashed. Are you sure Moat wasn't in the kingdom? You can report it at https://getsatisfaction.com/goko.

I did have a moment of confusion with Pillage being blocked by non-moat reactions but remember that pillage only targets players with five or more cards in hand and certain reactions (beggar and market square for example) are discarded as part of their reaction; since the reaction happens first, the other player now has four cards in hand and is unaffected pillage.

I see, but MS should not be able to react to Pillage in the first place as it is only activated when one of my cards is trashed which doesn't happen with Pillage. (If my opponent is playing Pillage, then only he is trashing a Pillage.)

That is true, but I think that there's one glitch here, not two. Market Square shouldn't react to Pillage, but the fact that it is blocks Pillage as a side effect.

In a similar way, Horse Traders is a wonderful defense against Minion :)

I didn't notice that until my first game with them both.
