Well, I've never had a kitten, so I wouldn't know what to tell you on that part. As for 2), I would recommend just being careful about opening the door - make sure he's in a different room if you're leaving, and make sure you're blocking the door as you're coming in. For 3), I've had 4 different cats, and not a one of them has had any interest in electrical plugs or outlets. It sounds like putting a bitter taste on them could be the way to go. You may also want to get a water spray bottle, but I have no idea if you're supposed to spray kittens. Again, only experience with adult cats. Once he's an adult, I'd recommend feeding him on solid kibble (it keeps better, smells better, and is better for the cat). You're also going to need a nail clipper (there's a special one for cats) - do NOT declaw him - if he ever does end up outside, he's going to need to be able to defend himself from other wild animals.
