I always say I am the biggest music fan you will ever meet that has absolutely zero musical talent. I was taught guitar when I was young but I never could pick up on it. Ukelele was much easier and I did learn a few nevershoutnever songs on it to impress a particular friend, though my voice is less than angelic
My best friend is somewhat of a musical savant and taught himself guitar and drums in a week. He can also play trombone, and cello. He can play song on the piano just by listening to the song and then playing around with the keys a bit until he gets it. He's been the lead singer in an acoustic pop band as well as a screemo band(I don't know how his voice does both those things so well) anyway that had a point, despite his best efforts to teach me anything I cannot for the life of me learn an instrument sufficiently enough to say "I play X"
I would say I have a very expansive musical taste, I would say my favorite artist/bands span from pavorati/the rat pack/Beatles/led zeppelin/red hot chille peppers/switchfoot/billy talent/beni bannasi/Calvin Harris/childish gambino and that is just what I could think of that spanned a good variety. The only music I find very hard to get into is country and metal. Though I will say my cowgirl of a girlfriend has gotten me into Miranda lambert and little big town. Metal is still very difficult.
@ozzle: this thread is still going because people love to talk about themselves but don't like to just come out and say it. Others want to be part of something, and people are interested in learning about fellow formers. It's the perfect setup for ongoing posts.
Apologies for not finding your airport, I looked at it and did not have enough time to invest to find the answer and didn't feel like half doing it.
