Okay, so I like to think I have some experience with newbies as I am the only person to have played the first newbie game.

First of people should say there gender unless you prefer not to, just know everyone here will default to the masculine.
Give your previous mafia experience(as eevee said) and what time zone you are in. Allso if you know anyone irl, I believe this was covered but going through again can't hurt.

It helps to keep peoples times in mind because people often seem scummy when their post times seem skewed, as though they are watching everyone else and contemplating what to say.

This goes for vets too, remember they are in the same boat as us they have to learn more new people.

So for me, I have quite a bit of mafia experience irl. You can see most of my forum experience in my signature. I started not too long ago but have been in almost every game since. I am robz888's younger brother but he is not in this game so that has little effect. Lastly I am in gmt-5 (4:53 here)

I'm a he, although don't really care either way. I've played some irl and a lot on here (would say I have a good feel on yuma, shraeye and mcmc, have played with liopoil and mail-mi a little). It's currently 5pm in where I am, but that might change and I'm often on on random times.

I am a he, but tend to just call people "they" as force of habit anyway. I actually feel kind of weird asking people to reveal their gender to me as it's not really my concern. Feel free to call me whatever you like

This is my first ever mafia game (though I have watched one or two). I don't know anyone on here irl and my time zone is GMT (it's currently 2105 as I post this).

Yea I am totally sorry for asking this, I understand it came off weird and it totally doesn't matter. Last game we had 3 girls and spent half them game confusedly calling them he and I was attempting to avoid offending anyone. I see now I could have done that anyway so I apologize and retract my statement.

No worries. I saw the mess of last game and was surprised no one just resorted to using "they" instead

. This way we also don't have to out any trans*/gender-fluid/queer people who would rather just play mafia and not get into gender politics.

That said, I am now veering into gender politics instead of playing Mafia.

You are correct. I'll let EFHW's tag slide, but please remember to do your tagging before the game starts observers. There is a Notify button that will send you updates to a game, though you may not find it as convenient as the new replies thread.

Um... sometimes people think I am invisible so they call me invisiyuma. And I am US Mountain time. Which is GM something that I can't remember. But two hours behind forum time (ET)
