Native Village/Wharf beats Tactician?

I went for the Tactician, while my opponent went Native Village/Wharf.  I came up short.  Was it a bad strategy?

If you want the long version then native village/wharf works well since the native villages are cheap, they can be acquired easily with the extra buys, and as soon you as you have a lot of them played each turn (or each two turns) you can manipulate the mat a lot better. Anything that lets you plays lots of wharves is good at harnessing treasure and that's all there is to it.

Tacticians don't really add anything to treasure decks. You get the disadvantage of buying your cards a turn later and get little benefit from the double hand.

Also, why did you end the game?  You never know how bad his shuffles will be so buy the duchy and go for the miracle win.

Fairgrounds would've been the 10th unique card too, so you could try to make a last ditch effort to go for them instead and like Copperr said, hope for some bad shuffles on his end.

Obligatory post for Noble Brigand.

It's a BM game, buy them, play them and profit.

Hello.  Name's Bruce.  It's all right.  I understand.  Why trust a shark, right?

Is quite curious - Who is the mystical "Celestial Chameleon"?
