The problem is, England will take Spain this year, and Portugal next year, and who the heck knows after that! He's becoming a beast up there!

he actually can't force either one. If I do spa H, mar S spa, bur-gas, and tys-wes then he cannot get spain. but I can't protect spain and portugal, but he also can't  go for both.

That's true. I guess you could technically cut both supports from Bur and Tys - but I've got to believe that you've got better things to do with both those units...

Like, you should move Bur - Bel just to surprise him. He'll think you're more concerned with defending, and won't expect a surprise offensive. He's probably moving that unit to Ruh anyway, while moving his Fleet out of Berlin and his Army Pru over (so as to put two units against Munich in the future). Prime time for you to slip in.

I thought about that, but I can't hold it. As it happens, I am doing bur-mun. I gotta think that he's doing nth-bel

I figured you'll go Munich, but that unit's just hanging out, so it's cool.

yeah.... I also considered bur-par and spa-gas with mar support, to try to get brest next year, but I have a feeling he's moving into spa from gas.

He might move into the south coast from Mao.

Then again, he might go for the longer game, figuring he can take Spa/Por whenever he wants, and instead move Mao - Naf, putting two Fleets ready in the Mediterranean for future years. In the meantime he can move nwg around through nao, while still maintaining nth-bel.

The advantage to this is that he can try for a sneak attack on Tunis this year with no real consequences. If he fails, oh well, and if he takes it, he's in position to hold it via Naf.

oh cool! :D I did it! Now I have interesting choices... I can disband both and build A par... or retreat to albania and retake venice..... or go to eas to be annoying to galzria... or play it safe and go to tunis. More choices when it comes time to chose which to destroy there's even more choices! since grujah has to decide what to do with gas I'll PM you shraeye

F Wes S Gas -> Spa/nc is not a legal move.  Or at least I don't think it should be.  Good thing it was cut anyway.

It is a legal move.

Because WES can move to the province of Spain (regardless of what coasts it can reach), it can support any action going into either coast of spain.

It's a really rare rule, and an easily missed one.  I was playing a game with a very notable Dip player who claimed the server we were playing on had a bug because it allowed exactly this move.  I had to show him the exact excerpt from the rules along with a link to a website that lists a set of adjudicator test cases that an adjudicator has to pass before it's declared a quality adjudicator.
