A thread to Share Scout kingdoms

If people are sharing double Tactician Kingdoms, I think it's only right we start sharing kingdoms where the most dominant card in Dominion remains dominant when it "depends on the kingdom". Obviously I mean Scout.

If you play a kingdom where Scout is a good buy, go ahead and share them here.
If you disagree with a position, argue that here too.

Here's the kingdom that inspired the thread:
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201212/26/game-20121226-111726-2009839d.html

Key cards:
1- Great Hall
2- Ghost Ship to slow the other guy down
3- No villages (so only one terminal per turn)
4- Peddlers for $s
5- Lookout (to thin the deck) for Peddlers
6- Spice Merchant - for more deck thinning and early +buys (before you start playing GS every turn)
7- Haven as a nice $2 for the plan (even though I never hit $2 and couldn't buy a Peddler)

Share more Scout kingdoms!

I have a good one. I'll look for the log.

Just played a game with Sharkbait where I won, and I bought Scout, and he didn't. The Scout in no way, shape, or form contributed to my victory. It was likely worse than silver.

After Scouting my entire CR history, I have found the following games worthy of this thread:

Game 1

My opponent plays Double Jack.  Scout allows me to pick up green and activate my wishing wells.  It also allows for reordering of the deck for other Cantrips which include things like Market and Peddler.

Game 2

In this game against Robz, I finish with 4 Scouts to his 0.  Since I won 57 to 26 clearly my use of scout led to my ultimate victory.*

*I may or may not have gained all 4 Scouts on my last turn with Haggler in play

Let's raise a glass for each successful Scout game!  Cheers!  :)

Is quite curious - Who is the mystical "Celestial Chameleon"?

Here's the maybe 1 game ever I played where Scout was great: http://councilroom.com/game?game_id=game-20121127-231439-0b8852d7.html

Note that we both have 2 Scouts, but I got mine much sooner than he did.

This was a Grand Market game where we split them--Moneylender facilitates this. But slim decks + Grand Martket +.... GOONS! Means every turn you start with a 3 card hand. Well, Wishing Well/Scout became like the only way of good draw (going for the laboratory effect here). So even though he ends up with way more Wishing Wells, my early Scout purchases do me wonders, and I actually steal the show.

But really, this is just further proof that Wishing Well (not Crossroads, Nobles, or Harem) is the only Scout combo card, and a weak one, at that.

I once played a Dominion game where my opponent bought Scouts, and I didn't. I lost that game....

I found Scout helpful in this no-trashing Scrying Pool game:

In the "victory dance" suggested kingdom in Intrigue, the scout is amazing.  Me and my brother one time were going for the same strategy on it, but he got a couple scouts while I didn't, and he crushed.

CR is giving me an internal server error when I try to search for Scout boards (or, really, search for anything.)  Bah!

But I've had several.  There was one just two days ago with Scrying Pool (for draw), Baron (for $$), and Moneylender (for trash) where Scout was actually decent support, greasing the wheels for the Pool and Baron to work.

Supply cards: Vagrant, Great Hall, Sage, Swindler, Bridge, Salvager, Mine, Vault, Farmland, Harem, Copper, Silver, Gold, Estate, Duchy, Province, Curse

Would be so much better with Scout. But even Vagrant was very useful once:
Quote
---------- hsiale_: turn 16 ----------
hsiale_ - plays Vagrant
hsiale_ - draws Copper
hsiale_ - reveals: Farmland
hsiale_ - places Farmland in hand
hsiale_ - plays 2 Silver, 1 Harem, 1 Copper
hsiale_ - buys Farmland
hsiale_ - trashes Farmland
hsiale_ - gains Province
hsiale_ - gains Farmland
hsiale_ - draws Silver, Silver, Harem, Great Hall, Salvager

I hate scout. But I imagine Scout, Ironworks Great hall,
Open Ironworks great hall, use ironworks to get as many great halls as you can, then pick up a scout, use the great halls to plow through your deck, pick up the remaining ironworks and a couple more scouts, end game ironworks/great hall/random 3rd pile, scouts or estates

That doesn't actually work that well. All eight great halls are still only 8 points; a province player should have a province or two, and some duchies, by the time you make that happen.

Depends how fast you drain the GH/Ironworks, I feel like I've done it once, though looking through my records I don't think I've successfully done it without another enabler like islands or bridge.
If you ironworks agressively You should be able to do it in <13 turns, so hopefully you will have enough to overcome 1 province

Against a competent player, it should not work.  It is not difficult to get 2 Provinces by turn 13.  1 Province and 1 Duchy are already enough to beat 8 Great Halls.  If your opponent is paying attention he will green a bit earlier and thank you for helping him 3 pile to a victory.

These are nice examples, but I think you miss the real power of Scout.

Here is a game won with a Scout OPENING. It crushes the more traditional Masquerade opening.

Cards in supply: Develop, Great Hall, Harem, Highway, Masquerade, Nomad Camp, Peddler, Scout, Silk Road, and Village

I think that's more a showcase of the power of Silk Road with lots of alt VP on the board. Scout can help in that situation, but it is not the star.
