Just a reminder, this was a ninja start, so don't expect all fellow players to be aware the game is ongoing yet.  That's part of the reason for the 48-hour Day 1.  Subsequent days will be 24 hours.

Also, a quick reminder that unique votes will start to be counted at some point by mods.

Ugh, didn't know about that tiebreaker, should have read rules more carefully.

What if there is a tie of unique votes too?

Unique votes will only start mattering after ashersky announces RVS to be over, no worries.

First RVS vote on me ever, hooray. At least, I hope it's RVS. Getting called a nemesis five posts into the game shouldn't be a good sign.

Randomly sorting everyone's names yields that I am the most suspicious. That is obviously a flawed method so I will not rely on it.

Taking things seriously, I REALLY think the masons should wait to claim at least until Day 2, preferably when we hit a Goon already. If they claim before we lynch the first Goon, the smart play for them would be to take out one of them. If they take out a VT, that's a huge advantage for the masons. So I vote no claiming.

Just thought about it, the latest I'll be here this day is about 20 minutes before the deadline. So, we should probably finish the day before then. I HOPE this won't matter too much. >_<

Theory question.  If the masons claim immediately, this game becomes like the other ones, but with the ic having day chat round one.
Thoughts?

Disclaimer: not claiming that I am not mason, just want to see reaction.

Hmm.. I was not here recently, how did those games fare for town?

But I think that masons are stronger for town, mafia cannot hit them as easily, and if they survive long enough they can win or force a double fakeclaim from mafia?

vote: sparky, cuz he's me nemesis!

1 and 1 for town.  I think the setup is slanted toward town.

This should be quite a bit better for town than the previous setup.

Actually (all linked):

Blitz Mafia VI: The Garden of Veterans by ashersky.  8 players.  Mafia wins.
Blitz Mafia V: Return of the Veteran Ship by ashersky.  8 players.  Mafia wins flawlessly.
Blitz Mafia IV: A Veteran Battle of Wits by ashersky.  8 players.  Town wins flawlessly.

... Do we still need to only kill 2 mafia to win, though? Or all 3?

Okay. Then... I think Masons should just claim, and we play this like the previous game, expect our ICs can talk in private. Which I am guessing is a HUGE benefit.

Yeah. I'm like almost positive that's what we should do. Or else we could waste half this day building cases on people that should just be acquitted.

We really need theorel or someone in here to simulate. :/ I think both sides have their arguments really.

Is IC's with daytalk better than scum possibly venge-killing a VT? I don't know the answer to that, but I would wait at least half a day before claiming anyways just because that should make getting reads easier, no?

although postponing it until 1st scum has died is definite huge edge for town so I dont know.

This. But also if Mason dies before first mafia than they are useless. Maybe reveal at first deadline (that is, just as first guy dies?)

Vote: Robz888 for fishing.

PPE: few posts.

Hmm.. or you might be right, we are actually tight on time, and wasting is more of an issue than normal..

Even 24 hours is plenty if you make the most of it. As long as the discussion keeps going, time won't be an issue I don't think.

There seem to be differing opinions on the subject. I personally think it's close / don't know, so I would prefer if the actual masons hashed it out in their QT and decided themselves. That way it at least won't be scum-affected. Thoughts?

Like, maybe I can build a case on Grujah now. Grujah used a stupid excuse to put a vote on me, in this hasty setup where votes flying everywhere isn't so good. And he's wrong on the claiming argument, whatever. So I have this case on him. Now I would try to convince Eevee and other people, that's how it works.

But if Grujah is IC... we're never actually going to get to the point of killing him (he'll claim before that), and this is all wasted discussion on someone who is not a viable candidate for lynch.

Now, ICs leading the discussion (while having their own private discussion) is I think something that will work nice. I was IC with Jimm in the last game, and I would have loved to explain to him the traps I was setting for suspects when I asked people to answer questions.

Obviously, they can still do this, sort of... but I do like the IC-led discussion format (and I think it will be greatly advantaged by their daychat), and I think it will be the best thing here. Better than blind man accusations.

Well, if everyone disagrees I'll drop it.

Yeah. I hope the Masons do discuss this, and if they agree with me that coming forward is best, they should do it (and I might be one of these masons!).

Good post Robz, obviusly laying down the arguments for the side you support to make the masons more informed when making their decision is good.

However, you don't think it can be beneficial to see who built cases on confirmed townies and hopped on their wagons or refused to hop on their wagons? I think that's one of the advantages of delaying the claim.

Meh, "fishing" was probably a bad term to use, "going for suboptimal strategy (i think it is suboptimal) where we give more info to scum" is what I should used. Blah.

I just don't see myself actually faulting someone for building a case against a confirmed townie, before the person was confirmed town. Maybe they were just trying to be a good scumhunter? The more the ICs try to hide who they are, the weirder they will inadvertently act, anyway. Possibly setting off other pro-town people's scum radars.
