Am I a bad person for wanting to infinitely pin someone using Bureaucratic?

Hello.  Name's Bruce.  It's all right.  I understand.  Why trust a shark, right?

Is quite curious - Who is the mystical "Celestial Chameleon"?

If that happened to me, I'd find it hilarious. I love strange ways to win, especially when they're used on me.

Mint squire is not great.  It's too slow to get going again after lowering the total value of your deck to 3. And you cant squire a silver+ mint a silver in the same turn. and they will collide often.

Necropolis?

I just love all the "plausible" mint openings (even mint/pawn), and Squire seems like it would only fall behind Fools Gold as far as they go. Using it for the actions or buys will come in handy in this sort of deck.

I also keep thinking there's some way to make mint/beggar work, but I'll need to experiment. It'd have to be in huge games where someone's almost certain to play an attack.

Mint/Poor House also seems counterintuitive, but if there's another trasher on board it could work.

Because there are plenty of combos that you want to one day be able to say "I did that ... and lost 500-0" about.

I look forward to playing Workshop (or similar) + Fortress + Watchtower. Or, for that matter, any gainer + Watchtower + on-trasher.

It's so much fun doing that with Ironworks.  I got rather distracted, actually.  Good way to 3-pile.

My guess would be something like
3-4 players,
Mint/Beggar/Fishing Village/Ghost Ship/Watchtower/Knights, with no other trashers

Beggar protects you from Knights and gives you two silvers if someone ghost ships you (not to mention only having to return 1 card back to the deck after- as well it gives you a +3 boost that you can use to get to fives or gold, and trash the coppers later)
Mint can clear the coppers out, and mint golds once you get them, then use fishing village/watchtower or fishing village/ghost ship to make an engine, throwing in attacks or minting treasures as you have free actions

I think I'd only try that IF there were no other trashers on the board, and there was a village. Sure, mint would become a dead card, but if you have no treasures poor house is almost a cost 1 better than gold, so who cares

I hope to one day manage to play Salvager on a Province to get $8 and +buy, then reduce the cost of Province with Highway/Bridge/Princess to get the province back for less that $8.

At least I've already managed to use a Knight/Princess combo to trash an opponent's Province.

How would that be possible? Masquerade?

My mistake, actually, Possession is written with the would/instead gaining text, as is Trader. If it was after-the-fact both players would gain the Prize (though one just briefly) if a possessed player gained one. I guess this only leaves Masq.

Yeah, it doesn't work at all - I had thought possession counted, but this is just faulty memory. Masquerade never gains anyone anything.

Well, the description on council room is that you *acquire* the prizes.  What does that mean?  Does it only include gaining?  Or is Masq ok?

And you can't abassador a prize because it's not in the supply, right?

Right. You can reveal it, but you can't return it to the supply (It didn't come from there), and no one else can gain it from the supply (because there aren't any there to gain).

It depends on how Council Room implements it. The description just says "acquire all 5 Prizes." It's not clear if it looks for the act of gaining a prize, or just having a prize in your deck, or what. I'm assuming it doesn't just look at your final deck to see if the prizes are there, because I would think that if you gained all 5 prizes, then trashed one, that you'd still get the title.

I'd like to do things with prizes: my favourite would be to play with them as they were bad things:

So salvager a prize (other than princess) because you desperately need this buy
Or apprentice a prize (not Trusty Steed or Bag of Gold) because you have to buy the last peddlers to three-pile or enable your conspirator-chain
Discard one with sc, vault, cellar, storeromm, because you need another card/1 more coin
Bishop a prize to get 1VP and win
Trash a prize with a must-trash card (trade route) to get the huge amount of $ of them
Pass a prize to your opponent because of Masquerade

Of course, situations where this is good play will be rare, but still there will be some edge cases you actually want do that
