Mafia, Resistance, Cosmic Encounter, Hanabi, Gauntlet of Fools, ... the number of games here are increasing.
As appreciation for all the organization of the games I play here, I like to host a different game.
Any suggestions? Anyone eager to play Pandemic? Especially anyone who doesn't know the game and want to try it out?
I would play Pandemic.  Never seen it before, but most of the games that made the Top 10 are ones I've heard various folks discuss in other threads, and they all interest me.

Pandemic is a very enjoyable game. One of my favorites in a small group (3-4).

Faust has also been incredibly stubborn this game. In other news, it's hot in the summer, and water falls from the sky when it rains.

Qvist, you forgot Diplomacy.  On that note, y'all should join diplomacy.  It's exciting, it's fun, it's not an armadillo.

I'd be interested in playing a forum-based armadillo.

If a newbie friendly game starts up soon, I am willing to push my game back to allow it to be played before. I wouldn't want to host it because I would actually like to play having never played in a completely normal game before. (The closest I got was in Blitz1).

My Buffy game will be newbie friendly.  PMs are written, co-mod confirmed.  Can start within a few days if needed.

Should I try to launch my Buffy game then?  Tuesday sign ups are doable for me.   Standard semi-open set-up with flavor, newbie friendly, no Buffy knowledge required.

There's maybe 3-4 games head of mine in the queue though...I think I am MXX.  If the mods in-between are okay with it, glad to get the newbie-friendly one going.

Let me clarify... I am ok with a newbie game jumping ahead of mine in the mafia que... not just a "newbie friendly" game... All games are newbie friendly to a certain degree. What I mean by a newbie game is the typical 9 player game that I, Voltgloss or even Insomniac's Lawman. If your game fits that standard then certainly start it up. But if I doesn't I suggest waiting for your turn. I would also hope that this newbie game is able to attract 3-4 true newbies in the same way that mine did (Cuzz, ashersky, Jorbles, geolib) and Volts have in the past.

I'm more than happy to wait--not trying to jump the line.

My game is 13, not 9.  I think we have 2 newbies in forum now, who could have priority in.

yeah, I would suggest volt start up signups, giving priority, or at least saving some spots for new players and then completely opening it up once we hit 4-5 new players or after a week or so has gone by. If this game is able to start I will hold off on mine for a bit, but probably not much, because ideally Volt's game will have more new players that aren't necessarily in my game, if it isn't, I will just run mine like I normally would.

Question: why is a queue necessary? Why not allow anyone to start a game whenever they have the desired number of players? I'm not arguing or anything, just curious.

Eh, it's probably not needed. People just use it to say if they have a game idea and then people can tell them if they are interested.

I think to ensure not too many games are going at once, plus folks work hard on game set up, and we want to ensure everyone who does gets the chance to launch.

We have an updated game index/queue going here: http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=5290.0

It's also been a bit crazy lately, so it'll probably be more useful when things get more organized.

Sorry, I'm a little confused on where things stand - is the next "newbie-friendly" game going to be the Buffy game?  Or would new players prefer a "standard" setup (a la M-I, M-II, etc.)?  I don't mind either way.

I don't think the flavour of the game should matter, but if its a newbie game it should have the newbie style set up (no weird twists)
